Stiaan Van Zyl
Stiaan van Zyl (born 19 September 1987) is a South African cricketer who most recently played for Sussex County Cricket Club as a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace. Previously, he represented his national side before ending his career by signing Kolpak deal. He made his debut for Boland in the SAA Provincial Challenge against Kei. He usually opened in limited overs games when Graeme Smith or Robin Peterson were absent. Graeme Craig Smith (born 1 February 1981) is a South African cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for South Africa in all formats. In 2003, he was appointed captain of the national team, taking over from Shaun Pollock. He held the position of test captain until his retirement in 2014. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Boland (cricket Team)
The Boland is a first-class cricket team that nominally represents the Boland region, in the South African province of Western Cape, in the CSA Provincial Competitions. The team is selected and supported by the Boland Cricket Board (BCB) and plays its home games at Boland Park in Paarl. At organisational level, the BCB is responsible for the administration and development of cricket in the region and among its primary functions are management and promotion of the Boland team. The current BCB was founded in 1992 as a merger between the Boland Cricket Union and an earlier Boland Cricket Board. For a cricketer to score a century (100 runs or more) on his Test match debut is considered a notable achievement, and as of December 2022, it has been accomplished 113 times by 111 players. Two of those players, Lawrence Rowe and Yasir Hameed, have scored centuries in both innings of their debut match.
