Steve Tobocman
Steven Tobocman (born January 27, 1970) is a politician from the state of Michigan. He served two terms in the Michigan House of Representatives. Because of state law on term limits, he could not run for a succeeding third term. A Democrat, he represented the 12th district in Southwest Detroit. Tobocman was elected by his party to be the Democratic Floor Leader for the 2007-2008 legislative session. Rashida Tlaib
Rashida Harbi Tlaib (, ; born July 24, 1976) is an American politician and lawyer serving as the U.S. representative for since 2019. The district includes the western half of Detroit, along with several of its western suburbs and much of the Downriver area. A member of the Democratic Party, Tlaib represented the 6th and 12th districts of the Michigan House of Representatives before her election to Congress. In 2018, Tlaib won the Democratic nomination for the United States House of Representatives seat from Michigan's 13th congressional district. The Michigan Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan. It is based in Lansing. Lavora Barnes is the party's current chair. She was previously the party's Chief Operating Officer.
