Steve Matthews (American Football)
Stephen Keith Matthews (born October 13, 1970) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He played five seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Oilers, later the Titans, (formerly Houston Oilers). He played collegiately at the Harford Community College of Harford County, Maryland in Churchville for the Fighting Owls and later at the University of Memphis for the Tigers. He is currently suspended as head football coach for receiving a DUI and having prescription pain pills in his vehicle with no prescription at Knoxville Catholic High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. Professional career Matthews was drafted in the seventh round (199th overall) in the 1994 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. After three seasons with no playing time, he left and joined the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the Jaguars, Matthews played in two games and started one. Argyle Goolsby (born Steve Matthews in 1979) is an American musician, best known for being the lead vocalist, bassist and co-founder of horror punk band Blitzkid (1997–2012). When Blitzkid disbanded in 2012, Goolsby pursued a career as a solo artist as Argyle Goolsby. He performs with both his live electric band, The Roving Midnight, as well as his fully acoustic band, The Hollow Bodies. Career Blitzkid (1997–2012) Goolsby was born in Bluefield, West Virginia. In 1997, Goolsby and lead guitarist and vocalist T.B. Monstrosity (Tracy Byrd) started the punk rock band Blitzkid. Drawing their inspiration from B-movies and horror movie classics, the band was soon considered to belong to the subgenre of horror punk, which emerged in the wake of the Misfits. Steve Matthews (rugby League)
Steve Matthews is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer who represented Aotearoa Māori in the 2000 World Cup. Playing career Matthews played for the Glenora Bears in the Auckland Rugby League competition and in 1998 he toured the Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea with the New Zealand Māori side. He was one of only five players that toured both countries. In 1999 he again toured Papua New Guinea with the New Zealand Māori before being selected to play against the Great Britain Lions in a curtain raiser to the final of the Rugby League Tri-Nations. He was selected in the Aotearoa Māori squad for the 2000 Rugby League World Cup and played in one match, against Samoa. In 2001, he joined the Hibiscus Coast Raiders and played in the side that won the 2001 Bartercard Cup. He remained with the Raiders for the 2002 Bartercard Cup.
