Andrew Patrick Arthur Steptoe (born 24 April 1951) is a British psychologist and epidemiologist and Head of the Department of Behavioural Science and Health at University College London. He is a pioneer in health psychology and behavioural medicine in the UK and internationally, known for his work on psychosocial factors in cardiovascular disease, ageing, and positive wellbeing and health. Steptoe Butte
Steptoe Butte is a quartzite island jutting out of the silty loess of the Palouse hills in Whitman County, Washington, in the northwest United States. The butte is preserved as Steptoe Butte State Park, a publicly owned recreation area located north of Colfax. Steptoe Butte and nearby Kamiak Butte comprise Steptoe and Kamiak Buttes National Natural Landmark. This area, designated in 1965, includes land in state and countyownership. Amanda Felicitas Stepto (born 31 July 1970) is a Canadian former actress who gained nationwide fame for her role as teen mother Christine "Spike" Nelson in the ''Degrassi'' franchise. Having no previous acting experience, Stepto rose to national prominence in the late 1980s portraying Spike on '' Degrassi Junior High'' (1987-89) and its follow-up ''Degrassi High'' (1989-91), of which were critical and commercial successes for the CBC. Steptoe Valley
The Steptoe Valley is a long basin located in White Pine County, in northeastern Nevada in the western United States. From the historic community of Currie, the valley runs south for approximately 100 miles (160 km). To the west are the high Egan Range and the Cherry Creek Range, while to the east is the even higher Schell Creek Range. U.S. Route 93 passes through much of the northern section of the valley, past the historic mining town of Cherry Creek and the communities of McGill and Ely, before crossing the Schell Creek Range at Connors Pass. Also found in this valley are the Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park, the Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Area, and Cave Lake State Park. Steptoe Battlefield State Park Heritage Site, formerly named Steptoe Battlefield State Park, is a heritage site on the southeast side of Rosalia in Whitman County, Washington. The state park memorializes a running battle that occurred in 1858, the Battle of Pine Creek, between American soldiers under the command of Lt. Col. Edward Steptoe and a large band of Spokane, Palouse, and Coeur d'Alene Native Americans. Interpretive signage at the park describes the course of the battle.
