Jackson Tanner Stephens (born May 11, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher who plays for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball. was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 18th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. He has previously played in MLB for the Reds and Atlanta Braves. Career Cincinnati Reds Stephens attended Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 18th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. Nathan Stephens
Nathan Stephens (born 11 April 1988) is a former Paralympian athlete from Wales competing mainly in category F57-58 throwing events. He was until September 2012 the world record holder in the F57 javelin throw. Life and sports Stephens was born in Kenfig Hill in Bridgend, South Wales. At the age of nine an accident on a railway line resulted in the loss of both of his legs. He started swimming for the Dragons Disabled Swimming Club before moving on to other sports. As a youth he joined the Cardiff Huskies ice sledge hockey team, which led to an interest in sport. He began competing in athletic competitions in 2003 at the age of 15, winning the gold in discus, javelin and shot put at the Junior British Championship. Meic Stephens (23 July 1938 – 2 July 2018) was a Welsh literary editor, journalist, translator, and poet. Birth and education Meic Stephens was born on 23 July 1938 in the village of Treforest, near Pontypridd, Glamorgan. He was educated at Pontypridd Boys' Grammar School and then studied at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, graduating in 1961, at the University of Rennes, Brittany, and the University College of North Wales, Bangor, Gwynedd. Career From 1962 to 1966 he taught French at Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire. In Merthyr Tydfil he established the Triskel Press and in 1965 he began the periodical, '' Poetry Wales''. Mary Isabel "Maybelle" Stephens Mitchell (January 13, 1872 – January 25, 1919) was an American suffragist, clubwoman, and activist. Born into a prestigious planting family of Irish Catholic background, she was educated at the Villa Maria Convent in Quebec and the Atlanta Female Seminary in Georgia. A social and political activist, Mitchell was a leader in the women's suffrage movement in Georgia, protesting against state laws and meeting with local politicians to advocate for the rights of women, and was a member of the Atlanta Woman's Club. In 1915, she served as the president of the Atlanta Women's Suffrage League and, later, co-founded the League of Women Voters in Georgia. Mitchell helped establish the Catholic Layman's Association of Georgia, fighting against Anti-Catholicism in the United States. Linden Stephens (born March 21, 1995) is an American football cornerback for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL. He played college football at Cincinnati and signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He has also been a member of several other NFL teams. Kenneth John Stephens (born 14 November 1946) is a former professional footballer, who played in 314 Football League games for West Bromwich Albion, Walsall, Bristol Rovers, and Hereford United. Career Stephens began playing for Speedwell School in his home town of Bristol, before going on to play in the Bristol Downs League as a teenager. He joined West Brom as an apprentice in 1962, before turning professional with them in 1964. He went on to play 22 League games for ''The Baggies'', scoring twice. After playing seven games for Walsall, who he joined in 1968, he retired from football to become a newsagent in the West Midlands, but was tempted out of retirement to join his home town club Bristol Rovers in 1970. John Lloyd Stephens (November 28, 1805October 13, 1852) was an American explorer, writer, and diplomat. Stephens was a pivotal figure in the rediscovery of Maya civilization throughout Middle America and in the planning of the Panama railroad. Early life John Lloyd Stephens was born November 28, 1805, in the township of Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He was the second son of Benjamin Stephens, a successful New Jersey merchant, and Clemence Lloyd, daughter of an eminent local judge. The following year the family moved to New York City. There Stephens received an education in the Classics at two privately tutored schools. At the age of 13 he enrolled at Columbia College, graduating at the top of his class four years later in 1822. Jane Stephens (actress)
Jane Tryphoena Stephens (1812? – 15 January 1896) was a British actress who became famous as she became older. Life Her first surname is unknown as she sometimes appeared as "Miss Stephens". She had a husband called Joseph Stephens who was a solicitor's clerk. Before she took to the stage in 1840 she ran a tobacconists. She took a variety of roles but it was not until 1854 that she found her niche. She took on "grandmotherly" type roles in a number of productions and was affectionately known as "Granny" Stephens. She finished her career on 9 July 1889 with a benefit programme at the Shaftesbury Theatre. The committee responsible for promoting the show included R D'Oyly Carte, George Edwardes and C H Hawtrey. Stephens died in Clapham Common in 1896 of bronchitis.
