Stephen Jardine
Stephen Jardine (born 1963) is a Scottish journalist, broadcaster and presenter. He has worked for the BBC, Scottish Television, GMTV and Radio Tay. Early years Born in Dumfries, Jardine is the son of the late Bill Jardine, a former chairman of Queen of the South. Career Jardine started his journalistic career as a reporter at Radio Tay before joining Scottish Television (now ''STV Central'') to work on ''Scotland Today''. He left STV in 1994 to become GMTV's Scotland Correspondent. He then moved to Paris as Europe Correspondent, and also presented on the GMTV sofa covering stories ranging from the death of the Princess of Wales to the Cannes Film Festival. Jardine left GMTV in December 1999 and returned to STV as host of the station's ''Millennium Hogmanay Show'' live from the centre of Edinburgh, then he moved on to presenting the afternoon talk show ''Room at the Top'' and his own evening chat show ''Tonight at the Top''. Scottish People
The Scots ( sco, Scots Fowk; gd, Albannaich) are an ethnic group and nation native to Scotland. Historically, they emerged in the early Middle Ages from an amalgamation of two Celtic-speaking peoples, the Picts and Gaels, who founded the Kingdom of Scotland (or '' Alba'') in the 9th century. The Five Thirty Show
''The Five Thirty Show'' is a Scottish topical magazine show, which began broadcasting in Northern and Central Scotland on STV on Monday 28 January 2008. The programme was aired live from STV's Pacific Quay studios in Glasgow, with live link-ups to other parts of Scotland often featuring. In May 2009, it was revealed that the programme would be axed and replaced by a new hour-long format entitled '' The Hour''. The last regular edition of the programme aired on Friday 15 May 2009 and concluded with co-host Rachel McTavish's departure from STV. The final live programme was followed by a week of compilation specials. Debate Night
Debate Night is BBC Scotland's flagship current affairs debate show, hosted by Stephen Jardine, which airs on Wednesdays nights. History Stephen Jardine was named as the host on 15 February 2019 ahead of the launch of the new BBC Scotland channel on 24 February 2019. The show first aired on Wednesday 27 February 2019 with a 10.45pm start time, with an initial run of 24 episodes. In April 2019, BBC Scotland announced a move to airing the programme on Sunday nights at 10pm. In September 2020, due to coronavirus restrictions, changes were made for the audience to participate by videoconference links. Michelle McManus
Michelle McManus (born 8 May 1980) is a Scottish singer, columnist, and television presenter who won the second and final series of the UK talent show ''Pop Idol'' in 2003. McManus's debut single, " All This Time", entered the UK Singles Chart at number one in January 2004. Her only album to date, '' The Meaning of Love'', was released in February 2004 and debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. ''The Hour'' is a lifestyle magazine programme that was broadcast on STV, the ITV franchise in Northern and Central Scotland, premiering on 26 May 2009.
