State Highway 302 (SH 302) is a Texas Texas state highways, state highway maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The route runs from U.S. Route 285 in Texas, U.S. Route 285 northwest of Pecos, Texas, Pecos to Interstate 20 in Texas, Interstate 20 near Odessa, Texas, Odessa. The route passes through Reeves County, Texas, Reeves, Loving County, Texas, Loving, Winkler County, Texas, Winkler, and Ector County, Texas, Ector counties. SH 302 has intersections with Texas State Highway 115, SH 115 and Texas State Highway 18, SH 18 in the Kermit, Texas, Kermit area, and Texas State Highway 158, SH 158 east of Notrees, Texas, Notrees. The route intersects Texas State Highway Loop 338, Loop 338 and Texas State Highway Spur 450, Spur 450 in West Odessa, Texas, West Odessa and then follows Loop 338 along the west side of Odessa until SH 302 terminates at I-20. Mentone, Texas
Mentone () is an unincorporated small town in, and the county seat of Loving County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 19 in 2010, almost a quarter of the county's 82 people at the time. Mentone was, until recent years, the least-populated unincorporated county seat in the United States, but lost that distinction with the 2010 census to Gann Valley, South Dakota, which had a population of 14. Mentone was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1967 as the "Smallest County Seat in Texas". History Named after Menton, France, by a French surveyor, present-day Mentone is actually the second such named community in Loving County; an earlier Mentone was founded south of the current town in 1893, but was abandoned in 1905. A second town on that site was called Juanita and then Porterville, but was deserted anew when Mentone was re-established in 1931, with most residents moving to the new town.
