Stagg High School (Stockton, California)
Amos Alonzo Stagg High School, or Stagg High School, is a public, four-year high school located at 1621 Brookside Road in Stockton, California, United States. It is part of the Stockton Unified School District. The school was dedicated on February 25, 1959, and was named after college football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg. Campus Stagg has 117 classrooms, a multipurpose room, campus cafe, 2 gyms, state-of-the art weight room, and an administration building. The main campus was built in 1959. Five portable classrooms were constructed in 2000 for class size reduction. Due to a bond measure passed (Measure Q), much of the campus was upgraded to include weatherized classrooms, a new football field, softball field, and baseball field. Created using all-weather materials for a long lasting facility. Sac-Joaquin Section
The Sac-Joaquin Section (SJS) is the governing body of public and private high school athletics in parts of Northern San Joaquin Valley, California. Its geographic area also covers the California portion of the Lake Tahoe region; however, three schools in that area—North Tahoe, Truckee, and South Tahoe High Schools—are instead members of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association due to their relative isolation from other California schools and their proximity to more populated areas in Nevada, especially in the Reno area. Kenneth Wooten Jr. (born April 17, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. Early life and high school career Wooten was born and grew up in Stockton, California and initially attended Stagg High School before transferring to Manteca High School after his sophomore year. As a senior, he averaged 13.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game and scored 26 points with 18 rebounds and nine blocks in the Buffaloes win over Ayala High School in the 2016 State title game. George Visger
George Anthony Visger (born September 26, 1958) is a former professional American football player who played defensive line for the San Francisco 49ers. Early life Visger began playing Pop Warner football at age 11 for the West Stockton Bear Cubs. At age 13, during his 3rd year of Pop Warner, he was hospitalized after knocking himself out in a Bull-In-The-Ring drill. After winning two championships in Pop Warner, he went on to play at A.A. Stagg High in Stockton, CA where they won two championships and went 20-1-1 including 11-0 and ranked #3 in CA during his two years on the varsity. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) is the governing body for high school sports in the U.S. state of California. CIF membership includes both public and private high schools.
