St. Jude Syro Malankara Catholic Church
St. Jude Syro Malankara Catholic Church is a parish of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of the United States of America and Canada located in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, US. St Jude celebrates Holy Qurobo, Qurbono in Malayalam and English and serves members of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in the Delaware Valley. History The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 paved the way for many Indians to immigrate into the U.S. During the early 1970s, many Malankara Catholics began to migrate to the U.S. and settle in different parts of the country. Many of them chose Philadelphia as their new home town, but Malankara Liturgical Services were not available then. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom
Yoohanon Chrysostom Kalloor (born 19 May 1944) was the second bishop of the Eparchy of Marthandom (1998–2010) and first bishop of the Eparchy of Pathanamthitta (2010–2019) of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. He retired from Pathanamthitta on 7 June 2019 and was succeeded by Samuel Irenios Kattukallil. He is currently Bishop Emeritus. Family and education Kalloor was the third son of Abraham and Achiyamma of the Kalloor family of Kadammanitta, in Pathanamthitta District. Benedict Mor Gregorios (1 February 1916 – 10 October 1994) was the second metropolitan archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Life Gregorios or "Thangalathil Thirumeni" was born and raised in the Malankara Orthodox Church in Kalloopara, present day Pathanamthitta district. He was baptised by the name Varghese.
