Sportclub Enschede
Sportclub Enschede is a football club from Enschede, Netherlands. ''SC Enschede'' was established in 1910. The club won the national championship in 1926. In 1965 ''SC Enschede'' merged with their rivals Enschedese Boys to form FC Twente (both clubs continued as non-league clubs). Currently ''Sportclub'' plays in the Eerste Klasse (5th tier in Dutch football). History ''Sportclub Enschede'' was founded on 1 June 1910. Soon the club developed in one of the leading football clubs in the Netherlands, winning the national title in 1926 and winning the Eastern League five times. From 1935 to 1937 the club was managed by Béla Guttmann. Enschede
Enschede (; known as in the local Twents dialect) is a municipality and city in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Overijssel and in the Twente region. The eastern parts of the urban area reaches the border of the German city of Gronau. The municipality of Enschede consisted of the city of Enschede until 1935, when the rural municipality of Lonneker, which surrounded the city, was annexed after the rapid industrial expansion of Enschede which began in the 1860s and involved the building of railways and the digging of the Twentekanaal. Theo Vonk
Theo Vonk (born 16 December 1947) is a Dutch former association football, football player and manager, most recently in charge of Gibraltar Premier Division side Glacis United F.C., Glacis United, where he also served as technical director. Career Vonk was born in Uitgeest. He spent the majority of his playing career at AZ Alkmaar, AZ'67, playing for them as a central defender for ten years from 1968 to 1978, before spending a year at FC Volendam and subsequently retiring. After retiring from playing, he joined his boyhood club AZ'67 as assistant manager, spending five years at the club before moving to Sparta Rotterdam in 1984. After a successful two years at the club, during which he guided them to 4th in his first season, he moved to FC Twente, finishing third three times over six years. Eerste Klasse
The Eerste Klasse ( en, First Class) started as the 1st tier of football in the Netherlands and is now the 6th tier. The league is divided into eleven divisions, six for Saturday clubs and five for Sunday clubs. These divisions correspond to the six districts of the Royal Dutch Football Association: each district organises a Saturday competition and a Sunday competition, except for South II, which only has a Sunday competition. Each division consists of 14 teams. The champion of the Eerste Klasse divisions are promoted to the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse). Eredivisie
The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. It is considered one of the best European leagues. As of the 2020–21 season, it is ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Enschedese Boys
Enschedese Boys is a non-league football club from the Dutch city Enschede. In 1965 the professional team of ''De Boys'' merged with their rivals Sportclub Enschede to FC Twente (both clubs continued in non-league football). Currently ''Enschedese Boys'' plays in the Vierde Klasse (8th tier in Dutch football). History ''Enschedese Boys'' was founded on 20 April 1906 by a couple of teenagers under the name ''Lotisco''. When the club joined the Twentsche Voetbalbond (FA of Twente) a year later, the name was changed to ''Excelsior''. In 1910 the club would get its current name. ''Enschedese Boys'' soon became the most popular team under the working class of Enschede. Football Club Twente () is a Dutch professional football club from the city of Enschede, sometimes known internationally as Twente Enschede. The club was formed in 1965 by the merger of 1926 Dutch champions Sportclub Enschede with Enschedese Boys. Béla Guttmann
Béla Guttmann (; 27 January 1899 – 28 August 1981) was a Hungarian footballer and coach. He was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary, and was Jewish. He was deported by the Nazis to a Nazi slave labor camp where he was tortured; he survived the Holocaust. Before the war, he played as a midfielder for MTK Hungária FC, SC Hakoah Wien, and several clubs in the United States. Guttmann also played for the Hungary national football team, including at the 1924 Olympic Games. Guttmann coached in ten countries from 1933 to 1974, and won ten national championships and, most notably, two back-to-back European Cups with Benfica. He also coached the national teams of Hungary and Austria, having also coached club football in the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil, Uruguay, and Portugal. Abe Lenstra
Abe Minderts Lenstra (27 November 1920 – 2 September 1985) was a Dutch footballer and national football icon in the 1950s who played as a forward. He is regarded as one of the greatest players ever to hail from the Netherlands. He was also a Frisian legend, most notably with the club where he made his name as a football player, Heerenveen. Career Lenstra played for a host of clubs such as SC Enschede, Enschedese Boys, PH: DOS '19, WSV, DOS Kampen and vv LTC. However, it was with VV Heerenveen (the previous name of current day sc Heerenveen) where he first was selected for the Dutch national team. Helmut Rahn
Helmut Rahn (16 August 1929 – 14 August 2003), known as ''Der Boss'' (The Boss), was a German footballer who played as a forward. He became a legend for having scored the winning goal in the final of the 1954 FIFA World Cup (West Germany vs. Hungary 3–2). Rahn, along with the German team, were decorated by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1972. Career Rahn started his career with ''Altenessen 1912'' where he played from 1938 until 1946. Then he went to ''SC Oelde 09'' with a total score of 52 goals for that team. In the 1950–51 season, he played for ''Sportfreunde Katernberg''. He was most successful when he played for Rot-Weiss Essen from 1951–1959.
