Speedtrap (film)
Speedtrap is 1977 police chase action film starring Joe Don Baker and Tyne Daly. Plot After a wave of unsolved car thefts, an insurance company calls in private investigator Pete Novick (Joe Don Baker) to solve the case. While the chief of police isn't thrilled about having an outsider come and show up his men, one of the officers is a former girlfriend of Novick's who's more than willing to help him out in any way she can. After a long and convoluted investigation with false leads, psychics and the mafia, Novick at last unravels the identity of the thief. Earl Arthur Bellamy (March 11, 1917 – November 30, 2003) was an American television and film director. Biography Bellamy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was also known as Earl J. Thomas Morgan Woodward (September 16, 1925 – February 22, 2019) was an American actor who is best known for his recurring role as Marvin "Punk" Anderson on the television soap opera ''Dallas'' and for his portrayal of Boss Godfrey, the sunglasses-wearing "man with no eyes", in the 1967 film ''Cool Hand Luke''. On TV, he was a familiar guest star on cowboy shows. Timothy Agoglia Carey (March 11, 1929 – May 11, 1994) was an American film and television character actor. Carey was best known for portraying manic or violent characters who are driven to extremes. Career He made his screen debut with a minor role in Billy Wilder's 1951 movie ''Ace in the Hole'' (alternately titled ''The Big Carnival''). One of Carey's most recognized early roles is in the 1956 Stanley Kubrick film '' The Killing'', in which he portrays a gunman hired to shoot a racehorse as a diversion from a racetrack robbery. Kubrick then cast him in his next film, the World War I drama ''Paths of Glory'' (1957), as one of three soldiers accused of cowardice. During the filming of ''Paths of Glory'', Carey was reportedly disruptive and tried to draw more attention to his character.
