''Special 26'' is an Indian Hindi-language 2013 period heist thriller film written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. Based on the 1987 Opera House heist. The plot follows, A team of tricksters ( Akshay Kumar with Anupam Kher ) pose as CBI officers and conduct raids to rob politicians and businessmen of their black money. With the real CBI ( Manoj Bajpayee ) on their trail, they decide to pull off their biggest heist. The film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Kajal Aggarwal, Rajesh Sharma, Divya Dutta and Kishor Kadam. Filming began on 23 February 2012 in Delhi. The film was shot in Chandni Chowk, near Jama Masjid, and Mumbai. Theatrical trailer was released online on 20 December 2012. Neeraj Pandey
Neeraj Pandey (born 17 December 1973) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who works in Hindi cinema. Pandey was made his directoral debut in ''A Wednesday!'', which was largely praised by critics and which later became a recipient of many accolades. His second film was ''Special 26'' (2013), which was followed by '' Baby'' (2015), the latter of which received critical acclaim and became a huge commercial success. He served as a producer in '' Rustom'' (2016). Pandey returned to directing in 2016 helming the biopic movie '' M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story'' based on Indian cricketer M.S.Dhoni which fared well critically and commercially. The Masjid-i-Jehan-Numa (), commonly known as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, is one of the largest mosques in India. Kishor Kadam (born 9 November 1967) is an Indian actor and poet who has acted prominently in Marathi and Hindi movies. He has also acted in Tamil movies and has appeared in some television serials as well.
