Southside is a semi-rural locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Southside had a population of 5,737 people. Geography Southside is on the south-western bank of the Mary River. Its name reflects its location south of the Gympie town centre. History The locality was originally known as Gympie South. Gympie South Side State School opened on 4 July 1910. On 13 May 1954 it was renamed Gympie South State School. In November 1937, the Methodist Church at Chatsworth was relocated to a new site adjacent to the South Side State School (about away, where it was officially opened by Reverend Ira Menear. It originally opened as Chatsworth Wesleyan Methodist Church opened on Sunday 16 August 1885 and was on the Chatsworth Road (now the Bruce Highway). Cooloola Christian College opened in 1992. The Southside of Richmond is an area of the Metropolitan Statistical Area surrounding Richmond, Virginia. It generally includes all portions of the City of Richmond that lie south of the James River, and includes all of the former city of Manchester. Depending on context, the term "Southside of Richmond" can include some northern areas of adjacent Chesterfield County, Virginia in the Richmond-Petersburg region. William Sami Étienne Grigahcine (born 13 June 1986), known by his stage name DJ Snake, is an Algerian French music producer and DJ, first achieving international recognition in 2013 by releasing an instrumentation-oriented single called " Turn Down for What" (featuring Lil Jon). The Southside Festival (simply known as Southside) is an annual music festival that takes place near Tuttlingen, Germany, usually every June. The festival as well as its artists and audiences are generally associated within the alternative part of popular music. The Hurricane Festival, often referred to as the "sister" of Southside, takes place on the same three days in the very north of Germany (contrary to Southside, which is in the very south). General Information The name Southside derives from the English "south side" and refers to Southern Germany where the festival takes place.
