South Melbourne Hellas
South Melbourne Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in suburb of Albert Park, in Melbourne, Victoria. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Victoria, with matches played at Lakeside Stadium. The club was founded in 1959 by Greek migrants following World War 2 as South Melbourne Hellas, with a basis in the Greek community. The club has won four Australian national championships, a string of Victorian State League titles, numerous Dockerty Cups and represented Oceania in the 2000 FIFA Club World Championship. Along with the Marconi Stallions, they were one of two clubs to compete in every season of the National Soccer League. Lakeside Stadium
Lakeside Stadium is an Australian sports arena in the South Melbourne suburb of Albert Park. Comprising an athletics track and soccer stadium, it currently serves as the home ground and administrative base for association football club South Melbourne FC, Athletics Victoria, Athletics Australia, Victorian Institute of Sport and Australian Little Athletics. The venue was built on the site of a former Australian rules football and cricket ground, the Lakeside Oval (also called the Lake Oval and the South Melbourne Cricket Ground), which served for more than a century as the home ground of the South Melbourne Cricket Club, and most notably as the home ground of the South Melbourne Football Club from 1879-1915, 1917-1941 and 1947-1981, though Australian rules football had been played at the site since 1869. Tommy Anderson (footballer)
Thomas Cowan Anderson (born 24 September 1934) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He played as a forward, and was noted for his extremely fast pace. Anderson was capped by Scotland schools, and had an amateur contract with Hearts. He began his professional career with Dumfries club, Queen of the South, in September 1955, leaving in November 1956. Anderson joined Watford in January 1957. In his first spell with the club he made 52 league appearances, scoring 12 goals. Anderson moved to Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic in June 1958 for a fee of £1,000, but in November the same year he moved to Queen's Park Rangers. He had only played five league games for Bournemouth, scoring once. He went on to score 3 times in 10 league games for Rangers in the 1958–59 season. He moved again in July 1959, signing for Torquay United. He made his debut on 22 August 1959, the first day of the 1959–60 season, in a 2–1 home win against Doncaster Rovers. Mooroolbark Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club based in Mooroolbark, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The club currently plays in Victorian State League Division 2.
