''Songs for You'' is the fourth studio album by American singer Tinashe, released independently through her own label Tinashe Music Inc. on November 21, 2019. It is the first project since her departure from RCA Records in February 2019. The project features collaborations with Ms Banks, 6lack, 6LACK, and G-Eazy. The album has received positive reviews, with publications praising her creativity, production and songwriting, as well as for releasing music Indie music scene, independently. Background After Tinashe's previous album ''Joyride (Tinashe album), Joyride'' was released, she started recording her follow-up mixtape. The mixtape was based on Tinashe's Alter ego, alter-ego, Nashe. Both Tinashe and Hitmaka, an executive producer on the mixtape, promoted ''Nashe'' through snippets of songs from the track list. Further promotion continued with its singles, "Like I Used To (Tinashe song), Like I Used To" and "Throw a Fit", both of which used the mixtape's artwork. Promotion for ''N ... Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe ( ; born February 6, 1993), known mononymously as Tinashe, is an American singer, dancer, and actress. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Tinashe moved to Pasadena as a child to pursue a career in entertainment. Her notable roles included as a motion-capture model in the animated film '' The Polar Express'' (2004), Robin Wheeler in the Cartoon Network television series ''Out of Jimmy's Head'' (2007–2008), and a recurring role in the CBS series ''Two and a Half Men'' (2008–2009). Between 2007 and 2011, Tinashe was a member of the girl group the Stunners. Following their disbandment, she released the positively-reviewed self-recorded mixtapes ''In Case We Die'' (2012) and '' Reverie'' (2012). Following their success, Tinashe signed with RCA Records and released her third mixtape, '' Black Water'' (2013). Her debut single, " 2 On" (featuring Schoolboy Q; produced by Mustard), reached number one on the Rhythmic airplay chart, and peaked at number 24 on ...
