Siripan Techajindawong
Siripun Taechachiadawong (born 1966) is a Thai writer who writes under the pen name Koynuch. Her works include the children's book, ''The Little Garuda'', which won honorable mention for children's books in the 2002 Nai Indra Awards. She also wrote the novel, ''Mah Nakorn'', which was adapted into the 2004 film, '' Citizen Dog'', by her husband, Wisit Sasanatieng. Siripun also wrote the novelization of her husband's first film, ''Fah Talai Jone'', or ''Tears of the Black Tiger''. She won a Phra Suraswadee ("Golden Doll") film award for best song from the Entertainment News Reporters Association of Thailand for her arrangement of the traditional song, "Kamsuanjan" ("The Moon Lament") in ''Tears of the Black Tiger''. Mah Nakorn
''Citizen Dog'' ( th, หมานคร; ; ) is a 2004 Thai romance film, directed by Wisit Sasanatieng and based on a novel by Wisit's wife, Koynuch ( Siriphan Techajindawong), which was illustrated by him. The second film by the director of '' Tears of the Black Tiger'', it is a colorful story set in contemporary Bangkok, where a boy (Pod) without a goal in life falls in love with a girl (Jin) who lives for her dreams. The film is frequently compared with the French movie ''Amélie''. One of the main themes of the movie is that people will only find something from the moment when they stopped looking for it. Wisit Sasanatieng
Wisit Sasanatieng ( th, วิศิษฏ์ ศาสนเที่ยง; ; born June 28, 1963) is a Thai film director and screenwriter of Chinese descent. Best known for his colourful debut feature film, ''Tears of the Black Tiger'', he is among a " New Wave" of Thai directors that include Nonzee Nimibutr and Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. Biography Early career Wisit studied at the Faculty of Decorative Arts at Silpakorn University, where he was a classmate of Nonzee Nimibutr and set designer Ek Lemchuen. He started out as an art director at the Film Factory, where he worked with Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. Among television commercials directed by Wisit was a colorful commercial for Wrangler Jeans that featured ''Black Tiger'' star Chartchai Ngamsuan. ''Tears of the Black Tiger'' ( th, ฟ้าทะลายโจร, or ''Fa Thalai Chon'', literally, " the heavens strike the thief") is a 2000 Thai action-adventure film written and directed by Wisit Sasanatieng. The story of a tragic romance between Dum, a fatalistic, working-class hero, who has become an outlaw, and Rumpoey, the upper-class daughter of a provincial governor, it is equal parts homage to and parody of Thai action films and romantic melodramas of the 1950s and 1960s. The film was the first from Thailand to be selected for competition at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, where it was critically hailed. Cinema Of Thailand
The cinema of Thailand dates back to the early days of filmmaking, when King Chulalongkorn's 1897 visit to Bern, Switzerland was recorded by François-Henri Lavancy-Clarke. The film was then brought to Bangkok, where it was exhibited.
