Sir John Cotterell, 6th Baronet
Sir John ''Henry'' Geers Cotterell, 6th Baronet (8 May 1935 – 4 December 2017) was a Hereford businessman and politician. Early life Cotterell, usually went by his middle name of Henry, was born on 8 May 1935 in Belgrave Square, London. He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Richard Cotterell, 5th Baronet and Lady Lettice Lygon. His parents divorced in 1958 and his father married Hon. Molly Patricia Berry (daughter of William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose) while his mother never remarried. Among his siblings was Rose Evelyn Cotterell, the wife of Charles Hambro, Baron Hambro, heir to the Hambros Bank fortune. His paternal grandparents were Sir John Cotterell, 4th Baronet and Lady Evelyn Amy Gordon-Lennox (the eldest daughter of the former Amy Mary Ricardo and Charles Gordon-Lennox, 7th Duke of Richmond). Lady Lettice Cotterell (née Lygon)
Lady Lettice Lygon (16 June 1906 – 18 July 1973) was an English socialite and aristocrat who was one of the Bright Young Things. Early life Lady Lettice Lygon was born on 16 June 1906, the daughter of William Lygon, 7th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Lettice Mary Elizabeth Grosvenor, a daughter of Victor Grosvenor, Earl Grosvenor. Bright Young Things Lady Lettice Lygon was "one of the tallest and prettiest members of the younger set". She was "the tallest débutante of her year". She was a friend of Daphne Fielding. In 1931, Lady Lettice's portrait was painted by Philip de László. Household Cavalry
The Household Cavalry (HCav) is made up of the two most senior regiments of the British Army, the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons). These regiments are divided between the Household Cavalry Regiment stationed at Kiwi Barracks in Wiltshire and the ceremonial mounted unit, the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, garrisoned at Hyde Park Barracks (Knightsbridge Barracks) in London. Free Radio Herefordshire & Worcestershire (formerly Radio Wyvern) is a local commercial radio station owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to Herefordshire and Worcestershire. As of September 2022, the station has a weekly audience of 65,000 listeners according to RAJAR. History Radio Wyvern originally went on-air on 4 October 1982. Hereford
Hereford () is a cathedral city, civil parish and the county town of Herefordshire, England. It lies on the River Wye, approximately east of the border with Wales, south-west of Worcester, England, Worcester and north-west of Gloucester. Hereford Cathedral
Hereford Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Anglican Diocese of Hereford in Hereford, England. A place of worship has existed on the site of the present building since the 8th century or earlier. The present building was begun in 1079. Substantial parts of the building date from both the Norman and the Gothic periods. The cathedral is a Grade I listed building. The Hereford Mappa Mundi is a medieval map of the known world ( la, mappa mundi), of a form deriving from the T and O pattern, dating from c. 1300. Hereford and Worcester County Council was the county council of the non-metropolitan county of Hereford and Worcester in west England. Herefordshire County Council was the county council of Herefordshire from 1 April 1889 to 31 March 1974. It was based at the Shirehall in Hereford. It was created under the Local Government Act 1888 and took over many of the powers that had previously been exercised by the Hereford Quarter Sessions.
