"Sincerity Is Scary" is a song by the English band The 1975 from their third studio album, ''A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships'' (2018). The song was written by band members Matty Healy, George Daniel (musician), George Daniel, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald, while Daniel and Healy handled the song's production. It was released on 13 September 2018 by Dirty Hit and Polydor Records as the fourth Single (music), single from the album. Contributions are featured from Roy Hargrove, who performs the trumpet, and the London Community Gospel Choir, who provide the choir vocals. The 1975
The 1975 are an English pop rock band formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Now based in Manchester, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew "Matty" Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. The band members met in secondary school and performed together as teenagers. Gigs, organised by a council worker, led the band to sign with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. A riff is a repeated chord progression or refrain in music (also known as an ostinato figure in classical music); it is a pattern, or melody, often played by the rhythm section instruments or solo instrument, that forms the basis or accompaniment of a musical composition. Lounge music is a type of easy listening music popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
