Silviu Bălace
Silviu Constantin Bălace (born 13 November 1978) is a Romanian retired professional footballer and currently a manager. Although primarily a left back, Bălace has played as a left winger as well and is known for his overlapping runs on the left side, his pace and his technical ability. Club career Early years Born in Caracal, Bălace started out as a trainee at Universitatea Craiova. On 24 May 1997, he made his first team debut, coming as a substitute in a 2–0 loss against Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț. Shortly after, when he was 18 years old, Bălace suffered an ankle fracture which kept him out from the field for almost a year and a half. After he recovered he was sent out on loan to Chindia Târgoviște in 1999 in order to gain experience. In January 2001, Bălace was loaned out to Rocar București for twelve months. George Silviu
George Silviu (pen name of Silvius Goliger; January 2, 1901 – May 16, 1971) was a Romanian poet, playwright, translator and lawyer. Born into a Jewish family in Focșani, his parents were Iancu Goliger, an architect, and his wife Hermina. After graduating from Unirea High School in his native town, he took a law degree from the University of Bucharest in 1922. In 1923, he graduated from the officers' school as a second lieutenant in the Romanian Land Forces. He joined the Socialist Party of Romania in 1920, and worked as an editor for the left-wing newspapers ''Adevărul'', ''Dimineața'' (1920-1930) and ''Lupta'' (1925-1937). From 1920 to 1939, he was a regular contributor to ''Gândirea'' magazine. Silviu Simioncencu
Silviu Simioncencu (born December 13, 1975, in Crişan, Tulcea) is a Romanian sprint canoer and three-time world champion in the Canadian canoe events. He won his first major title at the European championships in 2002, winning the C2 1000m final with Florin Popescu. In 2003 they became world champions at Gainesville, USA. Simioncencu was also a member of Romania's C-4 500 m crew which crossed the line second but was later awarded the gold medal after Russian Sergey Ulegin failed a doping test. A fourth-place finish in the C-4 200 m was also upgraded to bronze for the same reason. In 2004 Simioncencu also won a C-4 500 m gold medal at the European championships, this time without the aid of disqualifications. Vasile-Silviu Prigoană (born December 22, 1963) is a Romanian businessman and politician. He owns 60% of Rosal, a waste collection company which services Bucharest's Sector 3, Cluj-Napoca, Suceava, and Baia Mare. Silviu Lung (; born 9 September 1956) is a retired Romanian football goalkeeper and current manager. Playing career Club career Silviu Lung was born on 9 September 1956 in Sânmiclăuș, Satu Mare and started to play football in 1971 at Victoria Carei in Divizia C, being helped by a rule that the Romanian Football Federation imposed, which was the use of a junior player in the games from the lower leagues. He went to play Universitatea Craiova, making his Divizia A debut on 29 August 1974 in a 1–0 victory against Politehnica Timișoara.
