Silly Symphony Swings
Silly Symphony Swings is a wave swinger attraction in Paradise Gardens Park at the Disneyland Resort in California. Themed to Disney's 1935 short film ''The Band Concert'', Mickey Mouse conducts from high atop the attraction, synchronized with the music. Although ''The Band Concert'' was not part of the ''Silly Symphonies'' film series, the name was applied to the attraction as a result of its symphony storyline. Closely following the plot of ''The Band Concert'' the main column of the ride rises, revealing a tornado which spins the riders to the tune of the William Tell Overture and William Tell's "Storm". Once the tornado safely passes, the music comes to an end and the ride slows and lowers riders to the ground. The Silly Symphony Swings update was part of the multi-year, $1.1 billion ( US) expansion plan for Disney's California Adventure Park. Paradise Gardens Park is a themed land at Disney California Adventure. The area opened as Paradise Pier in 2001 along with the rest of the theme park. In 2010, World of Color and Silly Symphony Swings were added. To complete the Paradise Pier makeover, Disney opened Goofy's Sky School (rethemed Mulholland Madness) and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure (replacing Golden Dreams). Part of Paradise Pier was reimagined into Pixar Pier, which opened on June 23, 2018. Chair-O-Planes
The swing ride or chair swing ride (sometimes called a swing carousel, wave swinger, yo-yo, waver swinger, Chair-O-Planes, Dodo or swinger) is an amusement ride that is a variation on the carousel in which the seats are suspended from the rotating top of the carousel. On some versions, particularly on the Wave Swingers, the rotating top of the carousel also tilts for additional variations of motion. History Swing rides were present at the earliest amusement parks. At Idora Park in Oakland, California, in 1908, the ride was called the Flying Swing, but appears to be the same principle. Disneyland
Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar
Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar opened October 20, 2008 replacing the Seasons of the Vine Theater at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It closed on September 29, 2013, and reopened on April 13, 2018, to provide a preview of Pixar Pier. The exhibit is a preview center intended to promote upcoming attractions coming to the park, such as the dark ride The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Goofy's Sky School roller coaster, Buena Vista Street and the Cars Land themed areas. The exhibit often shows a preview film that features Imagineers talking about the upcoming attractions, which is updated routinely as construction progresses.
