Sicks (album)
''Sicks'' is the fourth album released by novelty rock group Barnes & Barnes. It was originally released in 1986 by Rhino Records, and rereleased in 2005 by Oglio Records. Its title takes its name from the fact that it is their sixth non-single release (including their previous three albums and two EP's), and also that it was deliberately created as a "sick" album. A sticker on the shrinkwrap of the original LP read, "Warning! The sickest songs ever collected on one record." Rhino Records
A rhinoceros (; ; ), commonly abbreviated to rhino, is a member of any of the five extant species (or numerous extinct species) of odd-toed ungulates in the family Rhinocerotidae. (It can also refer to a member of any of the extinct species of the superfamily Rhinocerotoidea.) Two of the extant species are native to Africa, and three to South and Southeast Asia. Rhinoceroses are some of the largest remaining megafauna: all weigh at least one tonne in adulthood. They have a herbivorous diet, small brains (400–600 g) for mammals of their size, one or two horns, and a thick (1.5–5 cm), protective skin formed from layers of collagen positioned in a lattice structure. "Pineapple Princess" is an American pop song made popular by Annette Funicello in the summer of 1960. "Pineapple Princess" was written by the Sherman Brothers. Flea (musician)
Michael Peter Balzary (born October 16, 1962), known professionally as Flea, is an Australian-American musician and actor. He is a founding member and bassist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Flea was born in Melbourne, Victoria; his family moved to Rye, New York, when he was four. After his parents divorced, Flea spent his childhood in the United States and Australia, before settling in California. At high school, he befriended singer Anthony Kiedis, with whom he formed the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1983. Spazchow is the title of the second album of American comedy rock group Barnes & Barnes, originally released in 1981 by Rhino Records and re-released in 1997 by Oglio Records. Origins The title means "born to suffer at the hands of women and make music" (revealed when the first track, "Intro", is played backward) in the duo's artificial language of Lumanian. The theme of "suffering at the hands of women" is present throughout many of the tracks on the album, giving it a slightly more serious tone than their first album, '' Voobaha''. Many of the songs are connected by themed "links" that tie the album together, and for the 1997 release the links were given titles (or "links") for the album's reissue, and some were created for the album's bonus music. "If You Wanna Be Happy" is a 1963 song recorded by Jimmy Soul, written by Rafael de Leon and adapted by Joseph Royster, Carmella Guida and Frank Guida. Background "If You Wanna Be Happy" is based on the song "Ugly Woman" by the Trinidadian calypsonian Roaring Lion (writing credited to his real name, Rafael de Leon), recorded in 1934. It hit #1 on the Hot 100 on May 18, 1963, as well as on the R&B singles chart. It was issued on Frank Guida's S.P.Q.R. label and distributed by London Records, and in the United Kingdom on EMI's Stateside label. The original single lists a running time of 2:14; some later releases are slightly longer due to an extended fade-out. It was banned on many radio stations due to the use of the words "Ugly Girl/ Woman."
