Shoji Gatoh
is a Japanese author and anime screenwriter from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. He is best known for the creation of the ''Full Metal Panic!'' franchise that includes light novels, manga and anime. Gatoh first met with Koichi Chigira by accident when he bumped into him in Shinjuku when he was late for work. Later on, the two were shocked to meet with one another in the Gonzo (company), Gonzo Digimation office. ''Hyouka'' () is a Japanese anime television series based on the ''Classic Literature Club'' series written by Honobu Yonezawa. It was named after the first volume of the series, ''Hyouka'', and made into a 22-episode televised animation series. The story follows Houtarou Oreki, a first-year high school student who meets Eru Chitanda, Satoshi Fukube, and Mayaka Ibara after joining his school's Classic Literature Club. ''Hyouka'' was produced by Kyoto Animation, with directing by Yasuhiro Takemoto, series composition by Shoji Gatoh, and character design by Futoshi Nishiya. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
is a companion series, while also being the second season to ''Full Metal Panic!'' by Gonzo and takes place between the first season and the third '' The Second Raid.'' Markedly different in tone to the first series, ''Fumoffu'' emphasizes the high school romantic comedy aspects of ''Full Metal Panic!'' with often crude humor and focuses on the romantic tension between Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori. It frequently parodies itself and anime stereotypes. None of the mecha combat or political intrigue, which characterized much of the original ''Full Metal Panic!'', can be seen in the series.
