Silajit Majumder ( bn, শিলাজিৎ মজুমদার, born 9 October 1965), first name also spelled ''Shilajit'', is an Indian Bengali male singer songwriter and actor from Kolkata. He is mostly credited by his first name. As an actor he is best known for his roles in films like ''Asukh'' (1999) by Rituparno Ghosh and ''Krantikaal'' (2005) by Sekhar Das. He took a remarkable place in Bigg Boss Bangla season 2. Education Majumder received his education at the Saint Paul K G school, the Scottish Church Collegiate School, and the Scottish Church College, before graduating from the Vidyasagar College of the University of Calcutta in English literature. Bengalis (singular Bengali bn, বাঙ্গালী/বাঙালি ), also rendered as Bangalee or the Bengali people, are an Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group originating from and culturally affiliated with the Bengal region of South Asia. ''Mahulbonir Sereng'' ( bn, মেহুলবনীর সেরেঙ্গ ''Songs of Mahulbonir'' or ''Tribal song Mahulbonir'') is a 2004 Bengali film directed by Sekhar Das based on a same name story of Tapan Bandyopadhyay This film was released at 13th Brisbane International Film Festival 2004 and 19 April 2005 at Filmfest DC in Washington. Plot The story is a narrative revolving around the love triangle of Aghore (Pijush Ganguly), with his wife Saheli (Chandrayee Ghosh) and Dr. Alaktak Roy (Silajit Majumder). Aghore is a police constable who works in a different place so he often stays out of hometown, in the meantime his wife Saheli gets closer with the new young doctor of their village. ''Half Serious'' is a 2013 Indian Bengali language film directed by Utsav Mukherjee. The film is a social satire which explores the themes of domestic violence and gender inequality. On 26 July 2013, the producer of the proposed film ''Dyakh Kemon Lagey'', the script of which was claimed to be registered with the Eastern India Motion Picture Association in 2011, filed a suit in a Sealdah court complaining that Mukherjee's film was a copy of his. ''Hemlock Society'' is an Indian Bengali romantic dark comedy released on 22 June 2012, directed by Srijit Mukherji, who is also the director of ''Autograph'' and '' Baishe Srabon''. ''Gandu'' is a 2010 Indian erotic black-and-white art drama film directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee. It features Anubrata, Joyraj, Kamalika, Silajit, and Rii in the lead roles.
