Shazia Khushk
Shazia Khushk ( ur, شازیہ خشک, Sindhi: شازيه خشڪ) (born September 1970 in Jamshoro), is a Pakistani former folk singer. She sung in Sindhi, Balochi, Sairaiki, Urdu, Kashmiri, Brahui and Punjabi. Biography Shazia Khushk was born at Jamshoro. She debuted for a show in 1992, upon her husband's encouragement, about whom Shazia says, "My husband often called me the Queen of Voice". She emerged as a singer of two prominent languages Sindhi and Balochi. Her debut song ''Mara Udheta Pakhiyara Kadi Aao Na Maare Des'' popularized her name across the country. Legacy Shazia Khushk performed over 500 songs in the span of her career, performing in 45 countries around the world. US Consulate General, Karachi had selected Shazia as the 'goodwill ambassador'. The University of Sindh ( ur, ; sd, سنڌ يونيورسٽي; informally known as Sindh University) is a public research university in Pakistan located in the city of Jamshoro. It is one of the oldest universities in Pakistan and was certified by ISO in 2015. Founded in 1947 in Karachi, the university was relocated to Hyderabad in 1951, where it began to function as a full-fledged teaching university. Sindhi ( ; , ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by about 30 million people in the Pakistani province of Sindh, where it has official status. It is also spoken by a further 1.7 million people in India, where it is a scheduled language, without any state-level official status. The main writing system is the Perso-Arabic script, which accounts for the majority of the Sindhi literature and is the only one currently used in Pakistan. Sindhis ( sd, سنڌي Perso-Arabic: सिन्धी Devanagari; ) are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the province of Sindh in Pakistan. After the partition of British Indian empire in 1947, many Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs migrated to the newly independent Dominion of India and other parts of the world. Music from Sindh (), is sung and is generally performed in either the "Baits" or "Waee" styles. The Baits style is vocal music in Sanhoon (low voice) or Graham (high voice). Waee instrumental music is performed in a variety of ways using a string instrument. Waee, also known as Kafi, is popular in the surrounding areas of Balochistan, Punjab, and Kutch.
