Sentry (Robert Reynolds)
Sentry (Robert "Bob" Reynolds) is a fictional character and superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in ''The Sentry'' #1 (September 2000), and was created by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee with uncredited conceptual contributions by Rick Veitch. Creation In the late 1990s, Paul Jenkins and Rick Veitch developed an idea by Jenkins' about "an over-the-hill guy, struggling with an addiction, who had a tight relationship with his dog" into a proposal for Marvel Comics' Marvel Knights line. Jenkins conceived of the character "a guardian type, with a watchtower", and came up with the name "Sentry" (after previously considering "Centurion"). Veitch suggested that the character could be woven into the history of the Marvel Universe, with versions of the character from the 1940s depicted in artistic styles matching the comics of each period. The Boeing E-3 Sentry is an American airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft developed by Boeing. E-3s are commonly known as AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System). Derived from the Boeing 707 airliner, it provides all-weather surveillance, command, control, and communications, and is used by the United States Air Force, NATO, French Air and Space Force, Royal Saudi Air Force and Chilean Air Force. Sentry is a highly automated impact prediction system operated by the JPL Center for NEO Studies (CNEOS) since 2002. It continually monitors the most up-to-date asteroid catalog for possibilities of future impact with Earth over the next 100+ years. Whenever a potential impact is detected it will be analyzed and the results immediately published by the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies. However, several weeks of optical data are not enough to conclusively identify an impact years in the future. By contrast, eliminating an entry on the risk page is a negative prediction, a prediction of where it will ''not'' be. The ''Sentry'' is an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) made by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Sentry is designed to descend to depths of and to carry a range of devices for taking samples, pictures and readings from the deep sea. ''Sentry'' is the successor to ''ABE'' (Autonomous Benthic Explorer) and is designed for research at the mid-water and near-seabed depths. Sentry (real name Curtis Elkins) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character has been depicted as a member of The Jury and his rank is commanding officer. His ethnicity is African-American. Fictional character biography Curtis Elkins was a Guardsman at the Vault a prison for super powered criminals. While there Curtis befriended Hugh Taylor, a new guardsman fresh out of the army. Lancair Sentry
The Lancair Sentry is an American amateur-built aircraft that was designed and produced by Lancair of Redmond, Oregon, introduced in 2002. The aircraft was supplied as a kit for amateur construction, although it was also intended as a production military trainer aircraft. First flown in September 2001, only two were ever completed. The design was intended to compete with other similar two-seat civil designs, such as the Thunder Mustang and the Turbine Legend. Military sales prospects included the Mexican Navy, but no orders were forthcoming.
