Seeburg, Brandenburg
is a village in the district of in Brandenburg, Germany. Since 2003 Seeburg is part of the municipality of Dallgow-Döberitz. Overview Seeburg was first mentioned in 1283. In 1375 the whole village belonged to the cloisters in nearby Spandau. In 1945 it became part of the Soviet Zone of Occupation. Since its territory stretched to the Havel river it cut through the main access roads to the RAF Gatow airfield. Grobiņa
Grobiņa (; german: Grobin) is a town in South Kurzeme Municipality in the Courland region of Latvia, eleven kilometers east of Liepāja. It was founded by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century. Some ruins of their Grobina castle are still visible. The town was given its charter in 1695. During the Early Middle Ages, Grobiņa (or Grobin) was the most important political centre on the territory of Latvia. There was a centre of Scandinavian settlement on the Baltic Sea, comparable in many ways to Hedeby and Birka but probably predating them both. About 3,000 surviving burial mounds contain the most impressive remains of the Vendel Age in Northern Europe. Seeburg Corporation
Seeburg was an American design and manufacturing company of automated musical equipment, such as orchestrions, jukeboxes, and vending equipment. Prior to manufacturing their signature jukebox suite of products, Seeburg was considered to be one of the "big four" of the top coin-operated phonograph companies alongside AMI, Wurlitzer, and Rock-Ola. At the height of jukebox popularity, Seeburg machines were synonymous with the technology and a major quotidian brand of American teenage life. The company went out of business after being sold to Stern Electronics in 1982. History Automated musical equipment, such as coin-operated phonographs and orchestrions, was manufactured under the J.P. Seeburg and Company name for most of its early years. {{unreferenced, date=January 2022 The Seeburg plotting table ( German: ''Seeburg-Tisch'') was a mechanical plotting table used by Nazi Germany in their operation rooms to track aircraft and coordinate operations during World War II. Attached to the plotting table was a Freya radar and two Würzburg-Riese radars. Freya radars would pick up and track the bombing raids and an attached Würzburg radar would then select an individual bomber and track it. The other Würzburg would track the night fighter that was sent out to find and attack the bombers. This plotting was done on a large, translucent glass plate. The radar position of both enemy bombers and the friendly night fighters were displayed on the table as moving spots of light. The enemy was displayed with a red spot and a blue spot represented the night fighter. The table had a grid that corresponded to the Kammhuber Line system (or Himmelbett as it was known in Germany) over the sector that was covered by its radar. The gr ...
