Scott Martin (thrower)
Scott Martin (born 12 October 1982 in Wodonga, Victoria) is an Australian shot putter and discus throw competitor. He rose to prominence in a National Australia Bank advertisement promoting the 2006 Commonwealth Games; in the ad, Martin was shown taking part in a ballet class to improve his discus technique. He won a bronze medal in the men's shot put at the Games, and won gold in the men's discus throw. Scott Martin is currently the Australian and Oceania record holder with a throw of 21.26 metres in the Melbourne leg of the World Athletics Tour meeting in February 2008. He beat the previous record held by Justin Anlezark at 20.96 metres. In addition he is the 2006 Australian Shot Put champion, and he is a three-time discus champion (2004–06). Martin is currently managed by the Australian arm of Athletes1, whose Director is Rick Olarenshaw. Scott Martin (born 6 November 1981) is a British rallying co-driver who competes in the FIA World Rally Championship. Biography Martin began his rallying career in 2001 co-driving at a national level in the UK. With Matthew Wilson in 2004, he finished as second outright co-driver in the British Rally Championship (BRC) in the Ford Focus RS. After the 2004 season, Martin was accepted into the MSA British Rally Elite Scheme, a specialist training scheme for young British rally drivers. In 2005 he was involved in a serious accident on the opening round of the BRC, the Rally of Wales, and was airlifted to hospital. Later that year he achieved his first international win on the Trackrod Rally with Wilson. The team also finished first on the Colin McRae Stages Rally. Scott Anthony Martin (born 1 April 1997) is a Scottish footballer, who plays for Scottish Championship club Hamilton Academical as a midfielder. Martin has previously played for Hibernian, and on loan for Forfar Athletic and Arbroath. Club career Hibernian Raised in Cambuslang and a pupil at Trinity High School, Martin trained with Celtic as a young boy but was released. His mother corresponded with several professional clubs on his behalf, and he joined the youth setup at Hibernian in 2007, following a successful trial. Scott Martin (born December 28, 1971) is a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives as chair of the Appropriations and Budget Committee and the representative for House District 46. Martin was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in November 2006. He resigned in May 2017 to lead the Norman Chamber of Commerce. Scott Martin is an American politician from Pennsylvania currently serving as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 13th district since January 3, 2017. He previously served as a two-term Lancaster County Commissioner and chairman of the Pennsylvania Republican County Commissioners Caucus. Scott Martin is married to Amber Martin and they have four children.
