Scala & Kolacny Brothers is a Belgian women's choir conducted by Stijn Kolacny, and arranged and accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano. They have made five studio albums (in multiple languages) starting with ''On The Rocks'' in 2002. The Scala Cinema ( th, โรงภาพยนตร์สกาล่า) was a thousand-seat movie theater in Bangkok, Thailand, named after the Teatro alla Scala, Milan's opera house. Scala opened on 31 December 1969 with a screening of '' The Undefeated'' (1969), a US Western starring John Wayne and Rock Hudson. It closed on 5 July 2020, showing, as its last film, '' Cinema Paradiso''. La Scala is a heritage-listed detached house at 517 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Thomas Ramsay Hall and built . It was originally known as ''Craig Athol''. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. History The three-storeyed timber house was built in 1914 for Dr Thomas Henry Reeve Mathewson to a design by architect Thomas Ramsay Hall. Mathewson named the house ''Craig Athol''. He operated his practice from the ground floor and lived in the house above. In 1923 he moved his practice to Wickham Terrace but continued to live in the house, renting out the ground floor to another doctor. Early life The daughter of an Italian father and an Irish mother, Scala's early life was one of privilege.
