Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. Sarpsborg ( or ), historically Borg, is a city and municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Sarpsborg. Sarpsborg is part of the fifth largest urban area in Norway when paired with neighbouring Fredrikstad. As of 1 January 2018, according to Statistics Norway these two municipalities have a total population of 136,127 with 55,840 in Sarpsborg and 81,278 in Fredrikstad. Sandvikens AIK (commonly known as SAIK) a sports club in Sandviken, Sweden. The bandy section plays its home games in the Göransson Arena in Sandviken. They play in a black outfit. History Sandvikens AIK was founded on 16 March 1901. IFK Vänersborg
IFK Vänersborg is a Swedish sports club in Vänersborg, Sweden, most famous for its success in bandy. History The club was formed on 9 March 1903. The first years saw the club also compete in sports such as gymnastics and athletics. In bandy, the club played in Allsvenskan for the first time during the 1975–76 season. The club was degraded and did not return until the 1982–83 season. The club was once again degraded, and was not upgraded until the 1986–87 season. Since then, the club has stayed in the top league, now called Elitserien. During the 2014 World Cup the team played the final, losing 1–4 against Västerås SK. BS BolticGöta, or for short "BG", is a bandy club in Karlstad, Sweden. The two major bandy clubs in Karlstad, IF Boltic and IF Göta, was merged in the year 2000 and founded ''Föreningen Bandysällskapet BolticGöta Karlstad'', in a shorter form called ''BS BolticGöta''. Bandy World Cup
The Bandy World Cup is an international bandy competition played in Sweden at the beginning of the bandy season every year, in autumn. The participating teams qualify based on their results in the previous bandy season. The World Cup is not played by national teams but is for bandy clubs from around the world, and should therefore not be confused with the Bandy World Championship. It is usually considered to be "the world championship for clubs". The tournament has been dominated by Swedish and Russian teams. History The Bandy World Cup was held every year in Ljusdal in Sweden from 1974 to 2008, at the start of the bandy season in autumn.
