Sara (1997 Film)
Sara is a 1997 Polish movie directed by Maciej Ślesicki. Plot Leon (Bogusław Linda), a former commando, returns home after a job in Yugoslavia. One of his young daughters pulls a gun out of his luggage and targets another daughter. After his wife has left him, and Leon has lost himself in booze, he is roused for an interview with a local criminal ringleader, Jozef (Marek Perepeczko), who is looking for a bodyguard for his 16-year-old daughter, Sara (Agnieszka Włodarczyk). During the interview an attempt is made to assassinate Jozef, and Leon's quick action saves his life. Leon is awarded the job. Sara at first appears unenthusiastic about her new bodyguard, but during an assassination attempt on her, he protects her with his body. Sarah falls in love with Leon. Initially, Leon is wary of Sara's attentions, but sincere and tender feelings for the girl eventually conquer his heart. Leon and Sarah become lovers. Soon Sara becomes pregnant. Festival ''Stozhary'' is an international actors film festival which takes place in Kyiv, Ukraine. The name of the festival is an Old Slavonic counterpart for the asterism of Pleiades. In the mythology of ancient Greece Pleiads were the 7 beautiful daughters of the Titan Atlas and the sea-nymph Pleione. Turned into 7 birds by Zeus they later became 7 bright stars, which formed beautiful constellation. Gdynia
Gdynia ( ; ; german: Gdingen (currently), (1939–1945); csb, Gdiniô, , , ) is a city in northern Poland and a seaport on the Baltic Sea coast. The Gdynia Film Festival (until 2011: Polish Film Festival, Polish: ''Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych w Gdyni'') is an annual film festival first held in Gdańsk (1974–1986), now held in Gdynia, Poland. Jarosław Gruda
Jarosław (; uk, Ярослав, Yaroslav, ; yi, יאַרעסלאָוו, Yareslov; german: Jaroslau) is a town in south-eastern Poland, with 38,970 inhabitants, as of 30 June 2014. Situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Przemyśl Voivodeship (1975–1998), it is the capital of Jarosław County. Teresa Lipowska (born 14 July 1937 in Warsaw) is a Polish actress. She is best known as Barbara Mostowiak in the very popular Polish soap opera ''M jak miłość''. Lipowska was married to actor Tomasz Zaliwski. Biography She is the eldest daughter of officials, Maria née Niegowska and Eugeniusz Wittczak. She spent the first years of her life in Warsaw, and after the war she moved to Lodz with her family. She grew up with two younger siblings, sister Elżbieta (1941–1990) and brother Andrzej (born 1945). As a child, she started learning to play the piano, she also played in school performances and recited poems, and at the age of nine she made her theater debut, playing a frog princess in the play Behind the Seven Mountains staged at the Lutnia Theater in Łódź. Jack Recknitz
Jack Recknitz (born Hans-Joachim Recknitz; 1931-2013) was a German and Polish actor. Born 25 May 1931 in Baden-Baden to a family of actors: Hans-Joachim Zinke senior and Katharina Recknitz. Early in his youth he started working for the Leipzig Radio as a speaker and news anchor, as well as appearing in various theatres in the German Democratic Republic. In 1953 he graduated from Schauspielschule in Mannheim and passed his actors' exams as an extramural student. He appeared on stage in Annaberg, Parchim, Bautzen and Karl-Marx-Stadt (modern Chemnitz). In 1965 he moved to Poland, where he appeared in over 80 feature films, mostly in the roles of foreigners: Germans, Britons or Americans. While in Poland he was sometimes credited as Jacek Recknitz. Between 1966 and 1968 he also worked at the Polish Radio. In addition to his film work, in 1967 he became a permanent member of the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw, where he remained until 1980. Lew Rywin (born 10 November 1945 in a Nizhnyeye Alkeyevo, USSR) is a Polish film producer associated with Heritage Films (est. 1991). He has also been a member of the Polish Radio and TV committee and worked in an agency, Poltel, producing for Polish state-run TV. He participated in producing such films as Steven Spielberg's ''Schindler's List'', Roman Polański's '' The Pianist'', Jan Jakub Kolski's ''Pornografia'' and Marek Brodzki's '' The Hexer'', based on ''The Witcher'' books by Andrzej Sapkowski. His last film was never produced. It was about the life of Holocaust survivor Herman Rosenblat (with producers Harris Salomon and Abi Sirokh). The film was titled ''Love is a Survivor'' and was later changed to ''The Flower of the Fence''. Altogether, he has served in a producer role in the making of 27 movies.
