San Miguel High School is a private Catholicism, Catholic and Lasallian Brothers, Lasallian college and college preparatory school located on the south side of Tucson, Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, United States. It is a member of the Cristo Rey Network of work-study schools. History San Miguel High School opened in 2004 to assist capable, students from families of limited means to prepare for college. It follows the Cristo Rey work-study model, whereby students work in businesses five days a month to earn 40% of their tuition. In its first nine years, the school had 492 graduates, all of whom were admitted to college. Current enrollment is 365, with 54 on the staff. About 95% of the students are Hispanic. The Sword of the Spirit is an international, ecumenical association of Christian communities within the charismatic movement. The member communities are composed predominantly of laypersons. It takes its roots from the Shepherding movement. The Sword of the Spirit has 65 member communities across 24 countries, and approximately 10,000 total members. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), also known as the North Central Association, was a membership organization, consisting of colleges, universities, and schools in 19 U.S. states engaged in educational accreditation. The Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) is one of two regulatory bodies for high school athletics and activities in the state of Arizona. It comprises all of the state's public district high schools (except Ajo High School, Beaver Dam High School and Gila Bend High School), various charter and private schools, plus a full member in Winterhaven, California and an associate member in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
