Sammy Omollo
Samuel "Pamzo" Omollo (born 30 May 1970) is a former Kenya international football defender who played for clubs in Kenya and India. He is currently the assistant coach of Gor Mahia, and he is also a football analyst at Radio Jambo FM, which is a broadcast radio station from Nairobi, Kenya, providing sports, talk shows and African music. Personal life Born on May 30, 1970, Sammy Omollo was raised in Park road estate in Ngara, where his nickname was ''"Pamzo"''. He is the son of Dishon Omollo, who also captained Harambee Stars and retired with quite some remarkable international games to his name. Omollo quickly took his position in cricket as an all-rounder, meaning that he could throw the ball, could hit it again as a batsman. Kakuma
Kakuma is a town in northwestern Turkana County, Kenya. It is the site of a UNHCR refugee camp, established in 1992. The population of Kakuma town was 60,000 in 2014, having grown from around 8,000 in 1990. In 1991, the camp was established to host unaccompanied minors who had fled the war in Sudan and from camps in Ethiopia. It was estimated that there were 12,000 "lost boys and girls" who had fled here via Egypt in 1990/91. Kakuma is situated in the second poorest region in Kenya and as a result of this poverty, there are ongoing tensions between the refugees and the local community that has occasionally resulted in violence. Compared to the wider region, the Kakuma camp has better health facilities and a higher percentage of children in full-time education, which resulted in a general notion that the refugees were better off than the locals. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Named after the association, the IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and the one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The royal houses of Patiala and Cooch Behar, A.A. The Calcutta Football League (CFL) is a ladder-based football competition in the Indian state of West Bengal, organised by Indian Football Association (WB), under state football leagues in India. Due to sponsorship reasons, the league is officially known as SNU Calcutta Football League, and is the oldest football league in Asia. The National Football League (NFL) was a league competition featuring football clubs from India. Founded in 1996 through the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the NFL was the first football league in India to be organized on a national scale. The AIFF then added a second division in 1997 and a third division was soon added by the governing body in 2006. The 1994 African Cup Winners' Cup football club tournament was won by DC Motema Pembe in two-legged final victory against Kenya Breweries, who were later renamed to Tusker F.C. in 1999. This was the twentieth season that the tournament took place for the winners of each African country's domestic cup. Kenyan Premier League
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL), officially known as the FKF Premier League and as the BetKing Premier League (BPL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs in Kenya. Standing at the top of the Kenyan football league system, the league was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. Henry Motego
Henry Motego (born 21 May 1964) is a former Kenya international football forward who played for clubs in Kenya and Oman. Club career Born in Gucha District, Motego began playing football in the local league for Shabana Kisii. He helped the club gain promotion to the Kenyan Premier League in 1988.
