Sam Mitchell (EastEnders)
Samantha "Sam" Mitchell (also Butcher and Hunter) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. The third member of the Mitchell family to appear on the soap, Sam was introduced as a 15-year-old schoolgirl in July 1990, originally played by Danniella Westbrook. The actress quit in 1993, but Sam reappeared from 1995 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2000. In both her 1996 and 2000 exits, Sam was written out earlier than the producers intended due to off-screen controversies surrounding Westbrook. In early 2002, the character was introduced for a fourth time, but the role was recast to another actress, Kim Medcalf, who stayed in the role until late 2005. Diederick Santer later decided to reintroduce the character for a brief stint in 2009 and he opted to bring Westbrook back for a short storyline later that year. Kim Medcalf
Kim Louise Medcalf (born 8 December 1973) is an English actress and singer. She is best known for taking over the role of Sam Mitchell in the long-running BBC soap opera, ''EastEnders'', between 2002 and 2005 and from 2022 onwards. Career ''EastEnders'' In late 2001, Medcalf took over the role of Sam Mitchell from Danniella Westbrook. She filmed her first scenes with Barbara Windsor in Spain, which aired in January 2002. She won the best newcomer award in 2002. Medcalf opted to leave ''EastEnders'' in 2005. Medcalf's final scenes were filmed in September 2005 and screened in November of that year. Ricky Butcher
Ricky Butcher is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Sid Owen. Introduced as a school boy in 1988, Ricky is one of the longest-running male protagonists to feature in ''EastEnders''. Owen originally left the role in 2000 to pursue a music career. However, he reprised the role in 2002 before being axed by producer Louise Berridge in 2004. In 2008, producer Diederick Santer introduced the character for a third time, along with his wife Bianca Jackson ( Patsy Palmer). Billy Mitchell is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Perry Fenwick, who made his first appearance on 2 November 1998. Billy was originally introduced by producer Matthew Robinson as a guest character, facilitating the introduction of Jamie Mitchell ( Jack Ryder) to the show.
