Salty (film)
''Salty'' is an American family comedy-drama film directed by Ricou Browning in his feature-length directorial debut. It was written by Ricou Browning and Jack Cowden, who had previously written the 1963 film '' Flipper'' and its subsequent television series together. Plot Twenty-something Taylor Reed and his teenage brother Tim Reed, whose parents were killed in a hurricane, move to rural Florida where Taylor has obtained a job at a marine life park. They hitch a ride with Clancy, an animal trader traveling by school bus to the same park, and along the way Tim bonds with the friendly sea lion Salty. They arrive at the park operated by Mrs. Penninger and find that it has fallen on hard times. The boys and Clancy work to revive the park while adventures are had with Salty. Ricou Browning
Ricou Browning (born February 16, 1930) is an American film director, actor, producer, screenwriter, underwater cinematographer and stuntman. He is best known for his underwater stunt work, especially in the 1954 film ''Creature from the Black Lagoon'', in which he portrayed the titular Gill-man during the film's underwater scenes (actor Ben Chapman played the Creature on land). Browning reprised the role for the underwater scenes in the film's sequels ''Revenge of the Creature'' and ''The Creature Walks Among Us''. He is the last surviving original actor to portray any of the Universal Classic Monsters. Browning also co-created '' Flipper'' with Jack Cowden, and directed a number of episodes of the 1960s television series. Browning made his feature film directorial debut with '' Salty'' (1973), which he also co-wrote with Cowden, and went on to direct '' Mr. No Legs'' (1978). Johnny Doran (born John Alan Doran, May 25, 1962) is an American former child actor. Reportedly discovered by a talent scout while performing George M. Cohan songs with his younger brother at P. J. Clarke's saloon in New York City, Doran began his acting career in the theatre, appearing as John Henry West in the off-Broadway production of ''F.
