Salka ( hu, Ipolyszalka) is a village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1156. Geography The municipality lies at an altitude of 110 metres and covers an area of 26.066 km². It has a population of about 1,069 people. Ethnicity The population is about 94% Hungarian people, Hungarian and 6% Slovaks, Slovak. Facilities The village has a small public library, a gym and a Association football pitch, football pitch. Nové Zámky District (''okres Nové Zámky'') is a district in the Nitra Region of western Slovakia.
