Abd Al-Masih Salib Al-Masudi
'Abd al-Masīḥ Ṣalīb al-Masū'dī (1848–1935) was an Egyptian monk and author. Biography 'Abd al-Masīḥ Ṣalīb al-Masū'dī was ordained a monk by his uncle, 'Abd al-Masīḥ al-Kabīr, in 1874. He served at the Paromeos Monastery at Wadi El Natrun and was summoned by Pope Cyril V of Alexandria to assist in the administration of the church in Cairo. He learned Hebrew, Syriac, Greek, and Coptic and became a prolific writer. His best known work is his interpretation of the ''Epact''. He died at the age of eighty-seven. Atiya, Aziz S. Salib Tal-Għolja
The Laferla Cross ( mt, is-Salib tal-Għolja) is an early 20th-century religious landmark on the outskirts of Siggiewi, in Malta. It is situated on a hill close to the Chapel of the Annunciation and the Cemetery of Saint Theodore. History The original Laferla Cross was built under the supervision of Ġanni Mercieca in 1903. It was named after Fr. Paul Laferla, who proposed its construction as a memorial of the Holy Year. A year after its construction, the cross was blessed by the Archbishop and an art painting of Our Lady of Sorrows was placed within the shrine. The cross was restored on number of times generally due to damage and degradation but it has at times collapsed. The 1903 Laferla Cross was replaced with a 1963 Italian replica reinforced in bronze and iron. Threatened by erosion and in danger of collapse the cross was restored by locals craftsmen in 1984. Deir al-Salib ( ar, دير الصليب, also spelled Deir al-Sleib or Deir al-Suleib) is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Hama Governorate, located 37 kilometers west of Hama. Nearby localities include Bil'in to the southeast, al-Rabiaa to the east, Asilah to the northeast, Jubb Ramlah to the north, al-Laqbah and Deir Mama to the northwest, Masyaf to the west, al-Suwaydah to the southwest and Baarin and Aqrab to the south. Wadi Salib ( ar, وادي صليب, he, ואדי סאליב; lit. Valley of the Cross) is a primarily Palestinian neighbourhood located in downtown Haifa, Israel, on the lower northeastern slope of Mount Carmel, between the Hadar HaCarmel and the city's historic center and CBD. History Wadi Salib was established near the old city walls in 1761, shortly after modern Haifa had been established by Zahir al-Umar. The neighborhood was populated by Muslim and Christian Arabs until the mid-nineteenth century, when development in Haifa began pushing outwards to other parts of the city.
