''Sagħtar'' is a Maltese magazine published by the Malta Union of Teachers. It is published monthly during the school year, and is intended mainly for use within Maltese primary and secondary schools. Its content ranges from information regarding current local and international topics, to Maltese literature. In Maltese ''sagħtar'' refers to wild thyme ''Thymus serpyllum'', known by the common names of Breckland thyme, Breckland wild thyme, wild thyme, creeping thyme, or elfin thyme, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family Lamiaceae, native to most of Europe and North Africa. Malta Union Of Teachers
The Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) is the longest established trade-union in Malta. The MUT stands as the largest sectoral trade union in Malta, representing educators and allied professionals across the whole spectrum of education: from kindergarten up to university level. The MUT is affiliated with FOR.U.M., ETUCE and EI, and is a very active trade-union participating in various local and international fora related to education, industrial relations and related subjects. The MUT launched various initiatives, notable amongst which was an attempt to unite the local trade union movement within a TUC in 2008.
