A hamlet is a human settlement that is smaller than a town or village. Its size relative to a parish can depend on the administration and region. Middlewich is a town in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, east of Chester, east of Winsford, southeast of Northwich and northwest of Sandbach. The population at the 2011 Census was 13,595. Middlewich lies at the confluence of three rivers, the River Dane, Dane, River Croco, Croco and River Wheelock, Wheelock.
