Sunset Speedway (Ontario)
Sunset Speedway is a NASCAR sanctioned 1/3 mile semi-banked short track motor racing oval, located forty minutes north of Toronto, in the town of Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. Sunset’s weekly Saturday night racing program runs from May to September each year, featuring Junior Late Models, Bone Stocks, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks and Late Models. The track regularly features touring series including the NASCAR Pinty's Series, APC United Late Model Series, OSCAAR Modifieds, Hot Rods and Outlaw Super Late Models. History In operation since 1968, new ownership purchased the speedway in May 2009 and upgraded the facility. The track asphalt was replaced, grandstands were repaired and a pit road was added for traveling series. 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
The 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was the ninth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, which took place in the summer of 2015. The season consisted of 11 races at 10 different venues, of which 7 were held on ovals. It began with the Pinty's presents the Clarington 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 17 and ended with the Pinty's 250 at Kawartha Speedway on September 19. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin entered the season as the defending Drivers' Champion; 2015 was the final season that Canadian Tire sponsored the series, with Pinty's taking over the title sponsorship from 2016. The 2022 NASCAR Pinty's Series was the sixteenth season of the Pinty's Series, the national stock car racing series in Canada sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the NTN Ultimate Bearing Experience 250 at Sunset Speedway on May 14 and concluded with the race at Delaware Speedway on September 25. The 2021 NASCAR Pinty's Series is the fifteenth season of the Pinty's Series, the national stock car racing series in Canada sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Frontline Workers 125 at Sunset Speedway on August 1 and concluded with the Pinty's Fall Brawl at Delaware Speedway on September 26. Jason Hathaway (born November 22, 1976) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He formerly competed in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, driving Team 3 Red Racing's No. 3 Chevrolet entry, and is the 2020 champion of the series. Racing career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series In 2017, Hathaway made his Truck Series debut at Mosport, driving the No. 66 Chevrolet Silverado for Bolen Motorsports. Louis-Philippe "L. P." Dumoulin (born February 21, 1979) is a Canadian stock car racing driver. He currently races in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, driving the No. 47 Dodge owned by Marc-André Bergeron. He won the series championship in 2014, 2018 and 2021 NASCAR Pinty's Series. Racing career NASCAR Xfinity Series Dumoulin ran the Montreal race each in 2011 and 2012.
