Submissions For Best Animated Feature Academy Award
This is a list of submissions for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature since it started in 2001 (where DreamWorks Animation's ''Shrek'' was the inaugural winner.). An animated feature is defined by the academy as a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes in which characters' performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time. The entire AMPAS membership has been eligible to choose the winner since the award's inception. If there are sixteen or more films submitted for the category, the winner is voted from a shortlist of five films, which has happened nine times, otherwise there will only be three films on the shortlist. Additionally, eight eligible animated features must have been theatrically released in Los Angeles County within the calendar year for this category to be activated. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature is an Academy Awards, Academy Award presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for the best animation, animated feature film. An animated feature is defined by the academy as a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes in which characters' performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature was first awarded in 2002 for films released in 2001. For much of the Academy Awards' history, the AMPAS was resistant to the idea of a regular award for animated features, considering there were simply too few produced to justify such consideration. Richard Rich (director)
Richard James Rich is an American director, producer, and screenwriter. Biography Rich is the founder and owner of Crest Animation Productions. Rich started his career in the mailroom of the Walt Disney Studios in 1972 and would give piano lessons during lunch breaks. He was chosen by John Lounsbery to be an assistant director for ''Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too'' based on his musical expertise. He made his directorial debut on ''The Fox and the Hound''. After leaving Disney in 1986, Rich established Rich Animation Studios, later renamed RichCrest. He directed '' The Swan Princess'' in 1994 and its eleven sequels. Andrew Ralph Adamson (born 1 December 1966) is a New Zealand film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. (4 February 1928 – 24 April 2012) was a Japanese film director, screenwriter, and producer, known for his work in '' Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama''. Life and work Yugo Sako, born in Gifu, Japan on February 4, 1928, lost his parents in his very early childhood, and was seemingly predestined to enter the Buddhist priesthood. He was then deeply steeped in the Indian philosophy and ideas as well as in the Zen culture. He had worked with the NHK, Nippon Hoso Kyokai (Japanese Broadcasting Corporation) for over ten years, then became a freelance creator working on television programs, magazines and music.
