Stuart Percy
Stuart Percy (born May 18, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for Vaasan Sport in the Liiga. He was selected 25th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Playing career On September 21, 2011, Percy was cut from the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp and sent back to major junior due to the impending lock-out. On November 22, 2011, the Maple Leafs signed Percy to a three-year, entry-level contract. Following an impressive preseason, Percy started the 2014–15 season on the Leafs but was returned to the Toronto Marlies after playing seven games with the Maple Leafs. At the conclusion of his entry-level contract, following the 2015–16 season, Percy was not tendered a contract as a restricted free agent, releasing him to free agency. Toronto Marlies
The Toronto Marlies are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the North Division of the Eastern Conference. The Marlies is owned by Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, a company that owns several professional sports teams in the city, including their NHL affiliate, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Marlies have played their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum since 2005. The Marlies was established as the New Brunswick Hawks in 1978. World U-17 Hockey Challenge
The World U-17 Hockey Challenge, originally known as the Quebec Esso Cup, is an international ice hockey tournament held annually in Canada. Prior to 2011, the tournament did not operate during years in which the Canada Winter Games were held. As such, the World Under-17 Challenge was held three out of every four years. It is organized by Hockey Canada and is the first major international competition for male hockey players under the age of 17. The tournament is the first step in Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence and is used to identify players moving on to the U18 and National Junior Team. 2010 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament
The 2010 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament was an under-18 ice hockey tournament held in Břeclav, Czech Republic and Piešťany, Slovakia from August 9–14, 2010. The two venues were Alcaplast Arena in Břeclav and Patrícia Ice Arena 37 in Piešťany. Canada won the gold for the third consecutive year and the 15th time overall. The United States lost in the final to win the silver, their first medal since 2006. Sweden got the bronze for the third consecutive year by defeating the Czech Republic 6-1 in the bronze medal game. Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament
The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is an annual international under-18 ice hockey tournament administered by Hockey Canada, the Czech Ice Hockey Association, and the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation. Held since 1991, it has been contested under various titles and in various countries, including Japan, Mexico, and Canada. From 1997 through 2017, hosting duties for the event alternated between, and were later split between, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During this period, the event was known as the Nations Cup, the U-18 Junior World Cup, and Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. From 2018 through 2023, the tournament will alternate between Edmonton/ Red Deer, Alberta and Břeclav, Czech Republic/Piešťany, Slovakia. Austin Fyten
Austin Fyten (born May 3, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for the Boxers de Bordeaux in the Ligue Magnus (FRA). He has formerly played in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Fyten first played in his native Alberta at the bantam and midget level with the Airdrie Xtreme and Ufa Bisons before he was selected in the second round, 27th overall in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft by the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Joining the Western Hockey League from the 2007–08 season, Fyten played in 193 games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes until 2011 scoring 55 goals and 122 points. The Providence Bruins are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL), and are the primary development team for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Rochester Americans
The Rochester Americans (colloquially known as the Amerks) are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League; the team is an owned and operated affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. The team plays its home games in Rochester, New York, at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The Americans are the fourth oldest franchise in the AHL, and have the second longest continuous tenure among AHL teams in their current locations after the Hershey Bears. Rochester was awarded a new franchise in June 1956, when the Pittsburgh Hornets were forced to suspend operations after their arena, the Duquesne Gardens was razed in an urban renewal project.
