Stewart Wieck
Stewart Douglas Wieck (May 10, 1968 – June 22, 2017) was one of the founders of the publishing company, White Wolf, Inc. He was also one of the original writers of Mage: The Ascension. Career Stewart Wieck was born in Freeport, Illinois, in 1968. He and his brother Steve Wieck had their first published work in 1986 with the adventure ''The Secret in the Swamp'' for ''Villains & Vigilantes'' from Fantasy Games Unlimited. Later that same year, while they were still in high school in Georgia, the brothers began self-publishing their own magazine, ''Arcanum''; Stewart soon retitled the magazine as '' White Wolf'', publishing the first issue in August 1986. The Wiecks were fans of Elric, and named their magazine after him. Freeport, Illinois
Freeport is the largest city in Stephenson County, Illinois, United States, and its county seat. The population was 23,973 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, and the mayor of Freeport is Jodi Miller, elected in 2017. World Of Darkness
''World of Darkness'' is a series of tabletop role-playing games, originally created by Mark Rein-Hagen for White Wolf Publishing. It began as an annual line of five games in 1991–1995, with ''Vampire: The Masquerade'', ''Werewolf: The Apocalypse'', ''Mage: The Ascension'', ''Wraith: The Oblivion'', and ''Changeling: The Dreaming'', along with off-shoots based on these. The series ended in 2004, and the Reboot (fiction), reboot ''Chronicles of Darkness'' was launched the same year with a new line of games. In 2011, the original series was brought back, and the two have since been published concurrently. ''Mage: The Ascension'' is a supernatural fiction tabletop role-playing game first published on August 19, 1993, by White Wolf Publishing. It is set in the World of Darkness universe. DNA Publications was an American publishing company that existed from 1993 to 2007 and was run by the husband-and-wife team of Warren Lapine and Angela Kessler. Initially based in Massachusetts, DNA Publications relocated to Radford, Virginia. Pendragon (role-playing Game)
''Pendragon'', or ''King Arthur Pendragon'', is a Tabletop role-playing game (RPG) in which players take the role of knights performing chivalric deeds in the tradition of Arthurian legend. It was originally written by Greg Stafford and published by Chaosium, then was acquired by Green Knight Publishing, who in turn passed on the rights to White Wolf Publishing in 2004. White Wolf sold the game to Stewart Wieck in 2009. Wieck formed Nocturnal Media, who updated and reissued the 5th edition originally published by White Wolf. In 2018, it returned to Chaosium. Green Ronin Publishing is an American company based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 2000 by Chris Pramas and Nicole Lindroos, they have published several role-playing game–related products.
