Steven Powell
Steven Powell is a professional sports executive. He has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer since 2011. Powell played an integral leadership role in the development and successful opening of the new BBVA Compass Stadium in 2012, overseeing and participating in all revenue generating areas of the business, including a sell out of all suites, premium seats and key stadium sponsorships, including the naming rights. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the Dynamo after joining them in 2006 from the New York New Jersey Metrostars Powell is noted for being the creator of the highly successful community ticketing initiative entitled, Kicks4Kids” which he initially launched while serving as VP of Sales for the Tampa Bay Mutiny of Major League Soccer in 1996. Houston Dynamo
Houston Dynamo Football Club is an American professional soccer club based in Houston. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Established on December 15, 2005, the club was founded after their former owners relocated the San Jose Earthquakes' players and staff to Houston following the 2005 season. For their first six seasons in Houston, the Dynamo played at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. BBVA Compass Stadium
Shell Energy Stadium is an American multi-purpose stadium located in Houston, Texas, that is home to Houston Dynamo FC, a Major League Soccer club and the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League and was the first soccer specific stadium built in a major metropolitan downtown city. The stadium is the result of combined commitments of $35.5 million from the city of Houston and $60 million from the Houston Dynamo Football Club. Harris County agreed to pay for half of the land in exchange for the ability to jointly own the stadium after its completion date in May 2012. The naming rights to the stadium were formerly held by BBVA USA; the name was changed to that of PNC Financial Services due to BBVA's acquisition by PNC. 1996 New York/New Jersey MetroStars Season
The 1996 season was the first season in New York/New Jersey MetroStars's existence, in the first season of American Major League Soccer. They played their home games at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The team played 38 matches in the season including 35 Major League Soccer games and 3 friendlies. The Tampa Bay Mutiny were an American professional soccer team based in Tampa, Florida. The club competed in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. The Mutiny were a charter member of MLS, playing from 1996 to 2001. The team played its home games at Tampa Stadium and then at Raymond James Stadium. The Mutiny were established in 1994 and were owned and operated by MLS throughout its entire existence. Gordon Harold Jago (born 22 October 1932) is an English former football player and manager, and the former director of the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup international youth tournament.
