Stephen Burton (darts Player)
Stephen Burton (born 2 December 1987) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won three events on the PDC secondary tour, the Challenge Tour. His best major performance is reaching the last 16 at the 2018 Players Championship Finals. Career 2017 Burton first won his PDC Tour Card at 2017 Qualifying School (2017 PDC Pro Tour#Q-School, Q-School), securing a Tour Card for the next two years on Day One. 2019 Burton made his first appearance at the PDC World Darts Championship after earning one of three spots in the Tour Card Holder qualifier for the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship, 2019 World Championship. Alexander Merkx
Alexander Merkx (born 20 March 1994) is a Dutch darts player who competes in World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won 2024 PDC Challenge Tour 21. Career He made his PDC European Tour debut in the 2019 Dutch Darts Masters, but lost 6–1 to Glen Durrant. Merkx also made his first final on the BDO/WDF circuit that year, losing 6-3 to Martin Barratt at the Lithuania Open. Merkx became a WDF Tour regular in 2022, winning ranking titles in Lithuania and Switzerland. He qualified for the 2023 WDF World Championships, winning his first game against Arjan Konterman before losing to Dennis Nilsson in the Last 16. 2018 European Darts Open
The 2018 European Darts Open was the first of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2018 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at Ostermann-Arena, Leverkusen, Germany, between 23–25 March 2018. It featured a field of 48 players and £135,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. This was the first event in the PDC European Tour where the format of the semi-finals and final were slightly altered. As in previous years, the first 3 rounds of action, plus the quarter-finals were all best of 11 legs matches, but the semi-finals became best of 13 legs matches, and the final became a best of 15 legs match. The 2018 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. In this year there are 41 PDC Pro Tour events being held – 22 Players Championships, six UK Open Qualifiers and 13 European Tour events. Players Championship Finals
The Players Championship Finals is a darts tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament originally featured the top 32 players from the Players Championship Order of Merit, a separate ranking system that only takes into account the non-televised Players Championship events on the PDC Pro Tour. In 2016, the field increased to 64 players. The tournament was first announced at the PDC Awards Dinner in January 2008 by PDC chairman Barry Hearn. The 2024 UK Open, known as the 2024 Ladbrokes UK Open for sponsorship reasons, was a professional darts tournament that was held from 1–3 March 2024 Butlin's in Minehead, England. It was the twenty-second UK Open to be staged by the Professional Darts Corporation. The Ladbrokes UK Open is a ranking major darts tournament held annually at the Butlins Minehead Resort by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in England.
