Stade Sébastien Charléty
Stade Sébastien-Charléty (; ), also known as Stade Charléty or Charléty, is a multi-purpose stadium located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. Comprising a running track and a football field, the stadium is a 20,000-seat state-owned venue used for numerous sports and events. It is also the current home ground of the rugby union team of Paris Université Club, who operate the venue, and the association football clubs Paris FC and Paris 13 Atletico. History The stadium opened in 1938 and was designed by French architect Bernard Zehrfuss. In May 1968, Charléty made the news for a nonsporting event: on 27 May, the meeting of the Union Nationale des Étudiants de France, one of the most important of the protests of that month, took place, attracting between 30,000 and 50,000 people. The Île-de-France (, ; literally "Isle of France") is the most populous of the eighteen regions of France. 2009–10 Top 14 Season
The 2009–10 Top 14 competition was a French domestic rugby union club competition operated by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). It began on August 14, 2009 with a match between Toulon and Stade Français at Stade Mayol in Toulon, and continued through to the final at the Stade de France on May 29, 2010. This year's edition of the Top 14 welcomed Racing Métro, winners of the 2009 title in the second-level Pro D2, and Albi, victors in the 2009 promotion playoffs between the second- through fifth-placed teams in Pro D2, thus becoming the first team to achieve promotion to the Top 14 only one year after being relegated. Racing Métro 92
Racing 92 () is a French rugby union club based in suburban Paris that was formed in 2001 with the collaboration of the Racing Club de France and US Métro. They were called Racing Métro 92 between 2001 and 2015, when they changed the name to Racing 92. "92" is the number of Hauts-de-Seine, a département of Île-de-France, bordering Paris to the west, where they play, and whose council gives financial backing to the club. The Stade Jean-Bouin (; ) is a multi-purpose stadium in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, France. The 20,000 capacity facility is located across the street from the much larger Parc des Princes, and is used mostly for rugby union and association football matches. It is the home stadium of Stade Français and FC Versailles. History The stadium was opened in 1925, and is named after the athlete Jean Bouin, the 5000 metre silver medalist from 1912 Olympics. It was the venue for the France Sevens leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series in 2005, 2006, and 2017–20. 2020 European Athletics Championships
The 2020 European Athletics Championships were to be the 25th edition of the international athletics competition between European nations, organised by the European Athletic Association. It was scheduled to take place from 26–30 August 2020 in the Charlety Stadium in Paris, France. It would have been the second time that France have hosted the championships, over eighty years since the French capital hosted the men's side of the 1938 European Athletics Championships. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic European Athletics and the Paris 2020 organising committee announced the championships were cancelled on 23 April 2020. It was cancelled for the first time since 1942 due to World War II. The event was not moved to an alternative date. Paris will later host the championships in 2030. IAAF Grand Prix Final
The IAAF Grand Prix Final was an athletics competition featuring track and field events staged by the International Association of Athletics Federations. It was first held in 1985 and replaced in 2003 by the IAAF World Athletics Final. For the most part of its history, the events were staged in early September in European major cities which also played host to prominent annual athletics meetings.
