Splash 105.5 FM Ibadan
Splash FM (105.5 MHz) is a radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The station broadcasts a full-service format with local news, talk programmes and music. It is owned by West Midlands Communications Limited. History The station was founded by Chief Adebayo Muritala Akande, the "Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadan Land", and began broadcasting on 22 March 2007. It was the first independent radio station in the city of Ibadan. The station's main objective is to bridge the gap between the existing station and the populace in Ibadan by fulfilling the major responsibilities of broadcasting, entertainment and public enlightenment. In view of this, it was rebranded the "Integrity Station" or "Radio Omoluabi" in Yoruba language, Yoruba on 25 August 2008 by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). Yoruba Language
Yoruba (, ; Yor. ) is a Niger–Congo languages, Niger-Congo language that is spoken in West Africa, primarily in South West (Nigeria), Southwestern and Middle Belt, Central Nigeria, Benin, and parts of Togo. Nigerian Pidgin
Nigerian Pidgin, also known simply as Pidgin or as Naijá in scholarship, is an English-based creole language spoken as a ''lingua franca'' across Nigeria. The language is sometimes referred to as ''Pijin'' or ''Vernacular''. Coming into existence during the 17th and 18th centuries as a result of contact between Britons and Africans involved in the Atlantic slave trade, in the 2010s, a common orthography was developed for Pidgin which has been gaining significant popularity in giving the language a harmonized writing system. Olubadan ( Yoruba: ''Lord of Ibadan''”the olu of ibadan”) is the royal title of the king of Ibadanland in Nigeria. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) is a Nigerian agency that was inaugurated on 29 September 2000 following the recommendation of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
