Sparta (Athletic Club)
Sparta Atletik () is a Danish track and field club, and one of the leading clubs in Denmark. The club is known for winning the major part of the individual medals at the Danish championships, and having the most athletes represented on the different national teams. The most famous athlete ever to have represented Sparta is the former 800 metres world record-holder and current 1000 and 800 metres distance indoors world record-holder Wilson Kipketer, who won gold medals representing Sparta in three successive editions of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, and took medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Kipketer's 800 meters world record on an outdoor track stood undefeated for almost 13 years. Piotr Buciarski
Piotr Buciarski (born 22 November 1975 in Warsaw, Poland) is a retired Danish pole vaulter of Polish descent. His personal best jump is 5.75 metres, achieved in April 2002 in Fort-de-France. This is the current national record. He represented Sparta and later the University of Oregon. Buciarski is a two-time national champion (2000 and 2002) in the men's decathlon. Søren Wulff Johansson (26 August 1971 – 8 August 2020) was a Danish decathlete. He was the first Danish person to receive a lifetime ban from sport, after failing doping tests for anabolic steroids in 1989 and 1995. Johansson was a two-time Danish Athletics Championships winner. Rikke Rønholt (born 1 January 1976) is a Danish athlete. She is a part of Sparta Athletics team. She started doing athletics when she was 12 years old. Back then she participated in events from 60 metres to heptathlon and shot put. When she ran her first 400 metres hurdles she was less than a second from qualifying for the European Junior Championships. She represents Sparta. Christina Scherwin
Christina Scherwin (born 11 July 1976) is a Danish former javelin thrower and two-time Olympian. She is the Danish record holder in women's javelin. Career In her junior years Scherwin placed 6th at the 1993 European Junior Championships and 5th at the 1994 World Junior Championships. She was the NCAA Division III national women's javelin champion with Moravian University in 2002 and 2003, as well as record-holder. At the 2003 World University games in Daegu she finished second, throwing 56.08 metres. Scherwin represented Sparta at club level. In July 2004 Scherwin qualified for the javelin at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics by throwing 59.36 metres, a Danish national record. Morten Jensen (born 2 December 1982 in Lynge) is a Danish former track and field athlete. He specialised in the long jump and also competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres sprints. He holds the Danish record in the long jump and formerly held the national records in the 100 metres and indoor 200 metres. Juliane Falsig Hvid (born 8 April 1998) is a Danish steeplechase runner specializing in the 3000 metres steeplechase. She won the 2023 Nordic Athletics Championships in the steeplechase and has represented Denmark at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. In addition to her athletics career, she is the reigning Nordic military pentathlon champion. Mogens Daniel Guldberg (born 2 August 1963 in Kalundborg) is a former middle distance runner from Denmark, who represented his native country at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.
