Waltari
Waltari is a Finnish band from Helsinki known for combining numerous styles, from different metal subgenres such as progressive metal, alternative metal and extreme metal to non-metal styles such as hip hop, pop, industrial, techno, punk and hard rock. Most of the band's music is written by Kärtsy Hatakka. Finnish metal musicians who started their international career in Waltari include Kreator's Sami Yli-Sirniö, Roope Latvala of Children of Bodom, and Janne Parviainen of Ensiferum. Originally, ''Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die!'' was written as a stage show. After the show's premiere performance in 1995 at the Helsinki Music Festival, it was recorded and finally released in May 1996. History ''Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die!'' was written by Kärtsy Hatakka between 1992 and 1995. By the end of 1994, Hatakka got in contact with Riku Niemi, a Finnish conductor, composer and leader of Avanti! (orchestra), Avanti! symphony orchestra. After Niemi became involved in the project, Hatakka finalized the work and Niemi arranged it for symphony orchestra. Rauli Somerjoki (born Rauli Aarre Tapani Somerjoki; August 30, 1947 – January 14, 1987), known professionally as "Badding", was a Finnish rock singer born in the town of Somero into a family of five children. Roope Latvala
Roope Juhani Latvala (born 25 June 1970) is a Finnish guitarist. He is one of the founding members of the thrash metal band Stone, which was one of the first notable bands in the history of Finnish heavy metal. He was also the former guitarist for the melodic death metal band Children of Bodom from 2003 to 2015 and the co-lead guitarist for Sinergy. Biography Latvala was born in Helsinki. At the age of 15, he founded the band Stone together with Janne Joutsenniemi. The band's style was initially focused on a more traditional heavy metal, but they soon shifted to a faster and more aggressive sound, which was the key for them to receive mass recognition. In the year of 1991, the band was dissolved, with a discography of four studio albums, one live album and one compilation album. Janne Parviainen (born 1973) is a Finnish Heavy metal music, heavy metal drummer who plays in the bands Sinergy, Barathrum and Ensiferum. He is a former member of Waltari and Zwanziger. Parviainen joined Barathrum in 2000 and Sinergy and Ensiferum more recently. His first recording for Ensiferum was the ''Dragonheads (EP), Dragonheads'' EP, which was recorded soon after he joined the band in 2005 and released early the next year.
