''Space Assassin'' is a single-player roleplaying gamebook written by Andrew Chapman, illustrated by Geoffrey Senior and originally published in 1985 by Puffin Books. It forms part of Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's ''Fighting Fantasy'' series. It is the 12th in the series in the original Puffin series (). There are currently no announced plans to republish the book as part of the modern Wizard series. Story ''Space Assassin'' is a science-fiction scenario in which the player is an assassin who must fight his way through the mutant cyborgs on the orbiting spaceship of a mad scientist planning to mutating all life on the planet below. Geoffrey Senior
Geoff Senior (born 1960) is a British artist, best known for his work in the comic book field in the 1980s, mainly for Marvel UK. Senior is perhaps best remembered for his art for the Marvel ''Transformers'' series. Biography Senior illustrated the 1985 book ''Space Assassin''. He debuted on the British ''Transformers'' title drawing #42, and became one of the title's most prolific and popular artists (always inking his own pencils), thanks to his geometric style, which perfectly suited the dynamics of the series. Puffin Books is a longstanding children's imprint of the British publishers Penguin Books. Since the 1960s, it has been among the largest publishers of children's books in the UK and much of the English-speaking world. Steve Jackson (born 20 May 1951) is a British game designer, writer, game reviewer and co-founder of UK game publisher Games Workshop. History Steve Jackson began his career in games in 1974 as a freelance journalist with ''Games & Puzzles'' magazine. Sir Ian Livingstone (born 29 December 1949) is an English fantasy author and entrepreneur. Along with Steve Jackson, he is the co-founder of a series of role-playing gamebooks, ''Fighting Fantasy'', and the author of many books within that series. He is also one of the co-founders of prominent games company Games Workshop. Early life Livingstone attended Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, where, according to him, he only earned one A-level, in Geography. Combat (French for ''fight'') is a purposeful violent conflict meant to physically harm or kill the opposition. Combat may be armed (using weapons) or unarmed ( not using weapons).
