Sonam Tobgye
''Lyonpo'' Sonam Tobgye (born 15 November 1949) is an eminent jurist from Bhutan. He served as Chief Justice of the High Court of Bhutan from 1991 through 2009 and as Chief Justice of the newly created Supreme Court of Bhutan from 2010 through 2014. He also served as president of SAARCLAW, the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation in Law, from 2011 through 2014. His public service spanned 43 years, beginning as master of household to King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and ending in constitutionally-mandated retirement at the age of 65. During the gap between the administrations of Prime Ministers Jigme Thinley and Tshering Tobgay, he served as Bhutan's head of government as Chief Advisor to the interim government from 28 April to 27 July 2013. Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (born 21 February 1980) is the fifth Druk Gyalpo (Dragon King) of Bhutan. His reign began in 2006 after his father Jigme Singye Wangchuck abdicated the throne. A public coronation ceremony was held on 6 November 2008, a year that marked 100 years of House of Wangchuck, monarchy in Bhutan. Dasho Tshering Wangchuk () is a Bhutanese jurist who served as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bhutan from 2014 to 2019. In 2018, Wanghuk served as the interim Head of Government of Bhutan, when serving as the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, following the dissolution of the Bhutanese National Assembly in preparation of elections. Career Dasho Tshering Wangchuk has a master's degree in international law from George Washington University (LLM '03), and another degree in law from the University of Delhi. Dasho (Dzongkha: དྲག་ཤོས; Wylie transliteration, Wylie: ''Drag-shos'') (lit. Excellent One) is a Bhutanese honorific that is bestowed upon individuals, along with a red scarf kabney, by the Druk Gyalpo. In common practice, however, many senior government officials and social elites are addressed as Dasho without officially receiving the title and the red scarf kabney. Although the title is bestowed upon both men and women, men are more likely to be addressed as Dasho without receiving the kabney. Kalimpong is a town and the headquarters of an eponymous district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located at an average elevation of . The town is the headquarters of the Kalimpong district. The region comes under Gorkhaland Territorial Administration which is an autonomous governing body within the state of West Bengal. The Indian Army's 27 Mountain Division is located on the outskirts of the city. Kalimpong is known for its educational institutions, many of which were established during the British colonial period.
